Alas...
I was truly hoping the author would redeem this series for me, but I find myself disappointed. I truly believe this is one of the most unlikable group of characters ever assembled in a single setting. Childish heroine, wishy-washy hero, supposedly loving aunt who doesn't trust the duo SHE introduces to her niece (while giving same niece no heads-up), aunt's disloyal friends, whiny cat... I could go on, but why? Oddly enough, Cora didn't drive me to thoughts of homicide, but anyone who watched "Bewitched" could appreciate comic relief a la Gladys Kravits. Once again, the plot triumphed over characters, grammar, and syntax. Since I honestly believe Madison Johns is a good writer there must be a reason for these characters, but not even hope for unearthing hidden depths in Noah is enough to make me endure the rest. Pity!

Magical Potions
Petunia made potions for her aunt to sell, but her noisy neighbor made a complaint about her to the sheriff. She was always causing trouble for Petunia. Petunia decided to talk to the mayor's wife to see if she would help her. After finding a body in their pool, petunia decides to find out who killed the woman. Investigating, Petunia starts annoying people and that leads to trouble.

Delightful Mystery
This was another fun read. Madison Johns really knows how to keep a mystery rolling. I love Pansy the cat. What makes this book fun is the first book which gives you clues about all the characters then includes them further into this book. My only complaint is the proof reading and visible mistakes. I know that Madison Johns has written many books and with that should come more experience and better proofing. I may be a little to rash in my expectations as these may have been her earlier writings.

If I'd wasted any more time reading it
I gave this story 3 stars only because I couldn't hang in long enough to finish it. If I'd wasted any more time reading it, it would have gotten 2. What was intended, I guess to be cute and whimsical was only silly and stupid. The plot could have been turned into something passable, but characters were boring and the dialogue was ridiculous. Cozy witch mysteries can be fun and it seems everybody's writing them, but not everybody is doing it well.

Meows, Magic & Manslaughter
Another fun , good story by Madison Johns. This one is about a witch, the second in a series. The witch, Petunia, makes potions remedies in her house. One of her remedies helped an elderly, arthritic lady to win a marathon. Unfortunately, one of Petunia' s options failed as a love option and changed a guy into a cat. Pansy, the cat, talks with her telepathically, helpful when solving a murder in this book.

Are small towns really a safe place to live?
In Petunia's small town murders are getting to be a habit. She's a witch who loves to investigate deadly crimes. She has a handsome neighbor, Noah who assists in her sleuthing and a cat that used to be her boyfriend before she gave him a love potion that wasn't. The book is funny and I really enjoyed it. I read the previous book about Petunia's adventures and that book was just as fun to read. Porch sitting on a hot summer day reading one of Madison Johns tales is a perfect match.

Fun, fun who done it.
It's been a very busy time for me in my personal life. I needed a book that was fun, an easy read, I could keep up with even if I had only a few minutes to read before I was off to something else personal. This is the book. Not necessarily a hurry up page Turner like some you can't put down but a fun book to take up some spare time occasionally.

C.I.A., Witches, and Detectives
Love, love, love these books. Petunia and Noah are such a cute couple. Gotta wonder if Petunia's grandfather will be the Gramma Masur or Po Po of this series. The grumpy Sheriff and sleezey Mayor just found out the storyline. Maybe Bonnie will wise up, dump the Mayor when he loses the next election, and marry her own hunk of burnin love.

Money makes the world go round
Another light, easy cozy that will have you heading in the wrong direction completely. When a body is found in the mayor's pool, it leads to a lot of questions. Was it because the victim was having an affair with the mayor? Sorting out the motives and the suspects nearly has a disastrous outcome. The characters are really coming into their own now and really enhance this neat little plot and the magic. Whilst the romantic angle is slowly being played out. Loved the budding relationship between Pansy and the dog.
