Tarot for the Great Outdoors: 78-Card Deck + Guide

Absolutely gorgeous deck
First things first: at the time of this review, this deck is $19. It has the average card stock of a $19 mass-market deck. It is fairly thin but I find thinner cards better for shuffling. I have a lot of 300 GSM, luxury card stock with rose petal finish and it is impossible to shuffle. That out of the way, this deck is absolutely gorgeous. One of the things I find frustrating about a lot of tarot decks is they don't vary the weather. The cards have blue skies, unless it is a bad card and then an overcast sky provides some cursory foreboding. In this deck, we have sunrises and sunsets, clear skies, rain and snow. We have day, twilight and night. It doesn't come with a full guidebook but a LWB. The LWB does have some nice insights but honestly this deck could be read intuitively. I hike and camp a lot and my spiritual practice involves nature. I think this will be an excellent deck to take hiking and plan camping trips or communicate with the land and nature.

Gorgeous deck with diverse images
My most recent purchase: Tarot for the Great Outdoors. Uses US national and state parks. Lovely art, very diverse, which I love in a deck. All tarot decks are good for any kind of situation, person, or question, but each deck has its own set of questions the deck is particularly good at answering.I asked the question. "What kinds of questions is this deck particularly good for?"The answer was it's especially good for earth people and for questions relating to the physical world.

Love the Unique Theme, Card Quality Disappoints
I LOVE Tarot decks and am consistently looking for something unique and different, that not only I will enjoy but that I may also potentially use in my professional readings. I really enjoy the unique use of nature and outdoor physical activities throughout the deck. What is even more of a unique quality is each of the Major Arcana cards are represented by a National Park. Beautiful artwork that represents a diverse group of people. What I didn’t like is the quality of the cards. The paper quality is thin and flimsy. I won’t be able to use these professionally for readings since they wouldn’t last very long. That was a disappointment.

Beautiful Concept & Artwork! Incredibly disappointing cardstock!
The media could not be loaded. I preorded this deck when I saw it because I am an outdoors girl who loves all the activities in this deck and loved it had the National Parks for the majors.I absolutely love the art. It is beautiful! The colors are gorgeous, I love the mix of people, landscapes and wildlife, and I love that the minors are fully illustrated and not pips. It does have a black and white stapled booklet but I don't mind a standard LWB and I think the card descriptions are cute and clever. though a few do seem to deviate from the standard RWS meanings, such as the 3 of blades, but I can deal with that.Sadly the cardstock is incredibly disappointing. I am not a cardstock snob by any means but this one falls so short. I noticed it the moment I pulled a card off the deck. It feels like paper. In reality it's not actually super thin. Stacked next to a classic Llewellyn deck it's actually a tad thicker. But there is NO snap to it like a good cardstock should have. It does not bounce back from being bent and does not have a snappy shuffle. It makes hardly any sound when riffled. I can riffle shuffle it carefully but I can't bridge it back together I just have to carefully push them back together. I actually love the finish on them, it's kind of a satin matte which would be incredible on a slightly thicker snappier card stock. I've attached a video comparing the cardstock to a classic Llewellyn deck so you can see what I'm talking about.I'm giving it 4 stars just because I love the concept and artwork so much. I really want the creators to be successful and it breaks my heart that they ended up with a publisher that doesn't seem to know how to do cards.

Lovely Deck
I'm so glad I overlooked some of the negative reviews. This is a beautiful and insightful deck. Such a big bang for the buck.

Terrible cardstock, not for professional use
5 stars for the artwork. Beautifully illustrated by Sharisse Steber. -4 stars for the cardstock. It's flimsy and just feels like printed home card paper. Terrible, no core at all. Easy to shuffle. Will not wear well. Disappointing. At least it wasn't a $30 plus deck. It's a shame the publisher used such low quality paper for such beautiful artwork.

Beautifully Rendered Deck
Yep the card stock is thin. Probably thinner than Llewellyn's. Do I care? Nope. It shuffles like a dream, the images are thoughtful and it tends to read numerologically (cool, something to learn!). I have no issues at all with this deck. The guidebook fits well in the sturdy box. As a collector of many, many decks I think this makes a lovely addition to my collection.

Beautiful
I was hesitant to order this deck due to reviews mentioning poor/thin cardstock. I personally like the card quality. Yes, it’s thin. But it’s not terrible quality. The flexibility lends well to both overhand and riffle shuffling/bridging. It reminds me of the cardstock from the Woodland Wardens oracle deck, if that’s a helpful reference to anyone. Artwork is gorgeous. Some of the cards are more traditional RWS imagery, some seem to take a more numerological approach. Overall I’m excited to work with this deck!!

Great Outdoors Tarot
Molto particolari! Bella confezione e cartoncino opaco. Introvabili e preziosi💯💯💯❤️

Awesome!
Yes, they're thinner cards but with my special decks no matter how sturdy, i shuffle pretty delicately so doesn't bother me. I would have liked the colours tonpop more but it is what it is. Very different cards that makes your intuition work harder, a favourite of mine!

Mal etwas ganz Anderes
