I have a teak fetish, so I have lots of it. In my opinion, this is not teak wood. I can tell without even taking it out of the shrinkwrap. I don't even think it is real wood but a manufactured wood with possibly an acacia veneer. (On one area on the bottom of the mat there is actually a quarter inch strip along the edge where the veneer does not cover the entire slat.) The mat looks nice right now, but I doubt it will last as long as teak. (Acacia if done right can last quite a long time, but I want teak to match my other seven teak items in my bath.) A shame because it is the perfect size since my teak stool takes up a lot of room.

I'm highly suspicious that this is not actually teak. There's a colored coating of some kind that chips off over time to reveal a white/grey material. Seems woody underneath, but this color is not consistent with raw teak wood.

finally had enough of bathmats that looked like XXXX after only a few months recalled teak as a top dollar deck wood on boats and looked up this mat here...……………………...we are so pleased ………..it so simple well built and looks so great...…..no find the matching seat ,,,,,as we are both over 60 this is the safest thing to have built very strong and made to last ,,,,,,,,,hey wipe only the seat off after you dry off ,,,and set out side in summer for a bit dry and warm it rub teak oil on it and it will outlast us all ………………….YA GOTT A GET THESE

I recently remodeled my bathroom using white porcelain, walnut limestone, and emperador brown marble accents, and couldn’t stand the thought of stickers or a rubber mat to keep the tub from being slippery...so this product is great! My husband is 46, and I am 43...as we get older, and mind you we’ve been those guys who thinks we’re cinstantky 23 and do all the crazy new things that hit the market...but our bodies say differently...and a sore morning after wakeboarding the day before can get dangerous if the tub is slippery. I did notice that stepping out it slid back on me a little even with the rubber feet, but I got 2 inch suction cups, and some threaded rods and drilled in a bit, used the rods like a dowl and Gordon’s glued them in...no more movement at all!!! So beautiful!

I bought this mat for our sauna where we get in after jumping in the pool. Bought two of them. The mats help tremendously. First of all, it helps with minimizing the water dripping on the floor. Second of all, it has a natural wood smell. Third of all, it resists changes in temperature. Not slippery when walking on them. These are high quality mats. The teak wood is amazing. Some people did not like the look of it. Well, that is a personal taste kind of thing. We like the way it looks. A bit rustic. Got them at a great price too.

I bought one of these two years ago and bought a second one after we bought a condo with two bathrooms. I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with the durability of this thing. I was mostly worried about there being mold or mildew. But with routine cleaning, I have been able to keep my old one like new. The latest addition is likely to last just as long for sure. Super sturdy and durable. These are better than some of the others I've seen on the market at more expensive retailers. Hasn't faded one bit. If you're on the fence, I'd just go ahead and spring and make the purchase as I see these are discontinued now.

I got this to use in our large tile shower to stand on as we're drying off. It is somewhat to the side of the main wet area, so although does get wet, its not constant. I haven't noticed any discoloration or fading. I do wonder if it is true teak wood or some other wood similar, but I do like it and would recommend.Edit: I've had this for over a year now, and still very satisfied with it. There really isn't any degradation to the appearance or the wood. Clean routinely with whatever I'm cleaning the shower with. No problem with mildew.

Product is exactly as described and we are very pleased. We use it inside the shower as our tile is very slippery and this solves that problem.
