Product Description The new album from Scottish singer/songwriter Iain Morrison celebrates the influence that the music of Ceol Mor has had on his own songwriting. With all the songs written in his own contemporary style, the melodies from ancient traditional piping tunes have remained the inspiration behind the album. A previous winner of the Scots Trad Music Awards 'Composer of the Year', Iain has also taken part in the BBC TV series 'Transatlantic Sessions'. His 6 album releases have established him as one of Scotland's most imaginative contemporary songwriters. The Glasgow Herald - 'If you are a fan of Neil Young especially, but a bit scunnered with his musical meandering, this may give you the fix that you are looking for.' 'These were songs you instantly wanted to hear all over again' 5/5 – The Scotsman 'A very gifted artist, we can't recommend him enough…brilliant!' Folk Radio UK

Mesmerized
I rarely give 5 star reviews, or even write reviews, but this album is a 4.75 star piece of work. Skimming Stones (his first solo album) is a 5 Star album, Dark Side of the Moon 5 Star, this is very close. There is a darkness back in his work, which balances out his heavenly, peat smoked music to create a subtle edge. Like a scalpel it can cut you to the bone, only to save you from the tumor of ordinary music which seems to surround us. Great Scottish folk music, but truly just some outstanding music for anywhere. Even "Too long in this condition" which is haunting spoken and sung words is mesmeric, it'll make you stop in your tracks first time you hear it. Great work Iain, keep it up

Good Album from huge talent
Very good album from Scotland's most gifted songwriter. It didn't quite get to the heights of his previous album - To the Horizon Sir - but nevertheless an excellent addition. It really surprises me that Iain is not a much bigger success and his recent energetic performances have been simply outstanding.

A masterpiece
A magnificent album. From the opening track (the start of which reminded me of pink floyd's 'shine on you crazy diamond'!) to the last, this is a coherent whole which incorporates folk, rock and Gaelic influences and gives you a beautiful evocative experience which is completely unique. Iain Morrison hails from the Isle of Lewis but his music speaks to the world. I can even forgive him including a banjo... Do yourself a favour and get this superb album.

Brilliant, moody atmospheric music, contemporary but with strong Celtic style. Congratualtions Iain , just stunning !!!
This is just brilliant, moody , celtic, scottish folk, whatever it is, its just brilliant, Iains voice is so touching, I cant recommend his works enough. His last album, To The Horizon Sir , was also brilliant, still one of my all time favourites. This album is moodier and again mixes Celtic tradition with deep emotion, beautiful emotional dark haunting melodies, wow , this album will also be one of my all time favourites. Congratulations Iain on yet another stunning piece of work, just marvelous.

Emotional stuff - an exceptional album!
This is undoubtedly the album of 2015. Emotional and moving, it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Surely the most underrated singer/songwriter around. It deserves to be heard by a huge audience. What a talent! 'A Flame of Wrath for Patrick Caogach' is simply stunning.
