Angle grinder and patience required.... and it still doesn't work!
Absolutely not fit for purpose. The wire on the window regulator had snapped on my B6 saloon, so I took apart the door to replace it. There are no instructions with the product but there are plenty of comprehensive guides on the net. This is a fiddly job anyway but a worse job when the parts dont quite fit:Firstly, the wire is too short. You can not stretch it, it is simply too short. You can *make it fit* by cutting down the plastic sleeve (without damaging the wire!). Inside the plastic sleeve is a steel sleeve that you can't really bend using pliers, so this is where the angle grinder and a sacrificial scribe comes in. Not a job most can do on the drive. So, you get the wire to fit, stop the winder from popping out and get it on the door. Sort of. There are three plastic points on the winder assembly that go through the door metal and clip to hold it to the door. They also should fit with three snug-fitting parts of the motor assembly. On the part provided, these points are ever so slightly off. So, there was a bit of difficulty getting these point to clip onto the door, or fitting the motor itself. I then screwed them together as you should, and one of these plastic points broke off. Fantastic. So now the motor wouldn't engage with the winder.Luckily I had the original part, so the window assembly came out again, and we wound the wire onto the original part. It looks like the wire is ever so slightly the wrong diameter, as it kept threatening to pop out of its groove on the winder. Put it all back together, checked it and tested it for about an inch. In operation it graunched and it sounded like that wire was going to pop out of the winder, so I've wound the window up to the top and just left it because there was nothing more to do and by now I was losing the will to live.Take it from an engineer and my poor mechanic friend who gave up his weekend for this: however tempting this is, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Consider it £16 off the real part, which will actually work and can be easily installed by anyone with a few tools and a couple of hours to spare.Credit to the company: delivery was quick.

Save yourself the bother and buy a proper full assembly rather than a repair kit....
Seemed like a reasonable replacement until I tried to fit it. The cables are just slightly too short to be able to complete the circuit and I ended up breaking it trying. It may have been that I didn't do some aspect of the fitting correctly but with no fitting instructions supplied, who knows! It seems incomprehensible that someone makes and sells a repair kit without adding precise instruction on how to actually fit it correctly I'm now forced to buy a complete assembly instead for £60 which is what I should have done in the first place....

Difficult to fit but great value for money
Great value for money. This would have cost a lot more if I had to get in fixed in a garage. The product was really good, but the process to fix is not for the light-hearted. Good instructions and lots of youtube videos available to help
