Fireproof and Waterproof Money and Important Documents Bag, Black, Size No Size

Seems to be a quality document bag. Fortunately it hasn’t been subjected to fire or water, and hopefully never will be, hence the reason for the purchase. Purchased for my 88 year old sister-in-law who recently almost experienced a fire in her basement of her 55 yr old house. Had some very important papers in an old metal box, which would not have survived a fire or water. I’m sure it’s fireproof, but waterproof...it has zipper closure under a Velcro flap. Not sure if water would penetrate the zipper if submerged in water. Hope we never find out.

Size is exactly as it was described and material seems to be of good quality. I purchased it to add to my Hurricane Readiness supplies. Living in south Florida a document keeper is essential. This is perfect size and not too bulky to keep important documents in the event of a hurricane.

This bag seems to be well-made. The zipper is sturdy. The outside is coated with vinyl and not a problem. The inside is a little concerning because you can see the fiberglass being woven through the fabric. I’m kind of afraid to touch it a lot I don’t want those fiber glass shards inside my hands. However, I could be wrong about that because I have touched it a little bit and it hasn’t bothered me at all.

I cannot tell you if this bag is fire-resistant, and I consider that a good thing. But I will say it feels like some space-age material I have never encountered before. I like that the main inner pouch has both a zipper and then a flap that goes over the zipper and closes snug with velcro. I think that will do a good job of keeping out rain, even heavy rain, but I don't think it would keep out water if the bag were fully immersed in water. I could be wrong about that.I keep very important documents in here, and I plan to take this bag with me any time I travel far from home. In my main filing cabinet, I have empty files that sort of "link" to this bag to indicate that that's where the item is located: my car title, for example.I have one note to the company: I could do without the giant logo of your company on the side. I paid money for the thing. I should not also have to advertise for you. But for me that was not a dealbreaker, and I'm not going to rate lower for it either.

The bag appears to be very sturdy and spacious enough, however, the zipper opening on top limits the size of documents that can be placed in the bag. The bag itself could hold legal-size documents, but the zipper only allows for letter-size documents; the zipper cuts off the first inch or two on each side. The zipper should be lengthened so as to fully utilize the capacity of the bag.

Luckily I haven't tested the bags ability to withstand a fire, but it is lightweight and holds all the important documents I want to store. I was originally looking at buying a safe but liked the idea of being able to just grab this should I ever need to evacuate my home, something you can't easily do with a 30 lb hunk of metal.

I have two of these bags. One for my boat papers, to keep all that stuff totally dry and safe. The second is for my house, it has my insurance policies, car titles, extra car keys, house keys and other important docs. If a hurricane shows up I can just grab that bag and run, knowing I have all my critical stuff in one place..Great strong bags. Highly recommend.

This fireproof safe was just what I was looking for. Excellent quality and met all my expectations. Just the right size also. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could, the item is built to last and gives me the extra security I need for preserving my important documents.
