Great recording tool
I was a bit sceptical when I first saw the Line 6 Pocket Pod and wasn't too sure what to expect. I needn't have worried though because this does exactly what it should do.There are a whole heap of tones within this unit so even a true novice like me can find something to suit there style. You get the option of using batteries or a 9v adapter (not supplied!) and it even has a belt/guitar strap clip, so very portable. It is very easy to use when you're playing and comes with a range of effects you can dial into your chosen sound e.g. Drive, Effects amount, Delay, Reverb. At the touch of a button you can also change Bass, Mid and Treble. There is also a Channel volume control, Tap tempo and a built-in Tuner.Put through the clean channel of an amplifier it sounds pretty good too.I will be mainly using mine as a guitar effects unit within my home studio so it will be interesting to hear the results but so far I have to say I'm impressed.

Little powerhouse of tones
Use this as a backup when gigging, or for alfresco practicing when I don’t want to annoy anyone. It’s not up there with more modern modellers, but provides serviceable tones provided you understand it’s limitations. It’s a bit fiddly to dial in through the unit itself, but the PC editor is a great help. Unfortunately, the Mac version of the editor tool waned into obscurity some time ago.The pre-defined ‘Artist Patches’ provide enough variety that you should be able to find something that will work for you.

Pretty good for inspiration, not a substitute for pedals
This was the first effects thing I bought and for that it's great, lots of sounds to play with for the price, though more in the amp sounds than effects. Glad I bought it all the same. The one thing that is annoying is that the knobs are software controlled, if you turn 'drive' all the way up, then use the 'alt' feature on that knob to adjust the bass, when you let go of the alt button, the knob position then doesn't reflect the real setting of where drive is, you have to move it to trigger an update of drive again. Not sure if that makes sense but it means looking at the position of a knob doesn't necessarily tell you what it's set to, you need to remember whether you used it for it's primary or alt setting last. As long as you set all the alt settings at the start of your session then only use it for the primary settings, it's fine and not confusing.I only use the effects and amps, not all the presets for songs/bands/etc.Let's not pretend that we don't all pick the INSANE amp and set drive to 2 o'clock anyway...

Great to chill with
The sounds that this generates for me are great. During summer, was sat outside with a guitar , this and a set of headphones chilling quite happily. It is really great to be able to edit your own sounds and save them and the PC Interface, whilst old, is still functional.

A must have for any electric guitar player.
I have been playing the guitar for years and i like a variety of bands / songs but have always played each one with the same basic amp and added a bit of distortion as im no sound wizard. Since i purchased this i can be plinking at midnight in my living room with happy neighbours, but in my ears i am at a concert listening to sweet child o mine with the right sound and i can even play the song into the pod from my phone or laptop using a male to male 3.5mm jack stereo wire and play over it. In summary it has made guitar playing much more enjoyable than before and its as easy as selecting a song or band rather than tweaking your amp and buying expensive equipment.

Build quality poor, and eats batteries.
A useful little gadget, but quality not great. The cover to the battery compartment is a very poor fit. It gets through batteries at an alarming rate. A mains adaptor is essential.

A classic with versatile tones
Always been a fan of Line 6 products and having recently returned to playing guitar wanted something affordable but also adaptable. PocketPod is perfect for my needs to that end. Operation can be a little fiddly on the devices but much easier when connected to the computer. Standard preset tones aren't all necessarily my thing but adjustments are easy to make plus the artist tones are a nice to have. You could easily gig with the Pocket Pod plugged into a PA and is all I need for home play/practice.

Hi Tech pocket size wizardry
As expected based on previous ownership of the larger pod and version. Downloaded the software but was disappointed that the usb cable wasn't included however it's the same cable my Akai keyboard and cd optical drives use. Would like the vendor to contact me with the suggestion of mailing the missing cable.

Usable sounds in my guitar bag for practice and battery operated gigs
I own more than 15 tube amps, and was once a tube snob. But after years playing live and in recording studios, I now use the Line6 Helix as my primary rig. Modern digital kicks A**.The Pocket Pod does not sound as good as the helix, but it fits in my guitar bag and runs off batteries. I bring my guitar and a book sized iLoud speaker, and my friend (with a battery powered keyboard rig) and I can gig at the beach and attract an audience. Fun, but also sometimes that strategy filled a hall for our real band. I doubt I would record an album with the pocket pod, (although I could), but I own two of them and until Line6 ports the helix tones to a battery powered portable device, I will buy another one every time sand or rain or salt or random abuse kills them.Trust me and spend a while going through the patches, picking your favorite six and copying them into the first few patches. Do that and I would expect you to be pretty happy with this tool. I like my Helix better, but I would not be ashamed to play to a large live audience with my favorite six patches from this device.FYI, the best tiny little battery powered speaker that is flat enough to make my guitar sound OK is https://smile.amazon.com/IK-Multimedia-Portable-Personal-Speaker/dp/B00BIPL8Z2/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=iloud&qid=1598983197&sr=8-2 It is not super loud, (probably maxes out before rocking 25 people.... maybe good for gentle ambience to as many as 50) ....but within it's limits, it sounds nice.If I need more power, I use https://smile.amazon.com/4-Channel-50-Watt-Battery-Powered-Amplifier/dp/B00JMU1RAG/ref=psdc_11968291_t1_B000W22JG4 ...which is actually pretty amazing, but I like the sound of the pocket pod direct, better than it's built in amp stuff... (but maybe that is because I like to change between a bunch of different sounds.)
