Sharps Container Biohazard Needle Disposal - 1 Quart - Pack of 2

Having two biohazard containers at home is convenient. I keep one in my bathroom, and one in the kitchen. I take two kinds of insulin, after meals and before bed. Having a safe disposal for my Levimir and Novolog needle tips is convenient. I seldom miss taking the med because it is not convenient.I gave it four stars because with lack of adequate sensation in my finger tips I cannot slide open the container's small light-weight top tab to insert the used needle. The container is light weight, making it a two handed job to hold the red part steady while sliding the top tab. I do not like to remove the tip from my needle and lay it down, since it is almost invisible and prone to get knocked on the floor. With my small dogs around, I sure do not want them ingesting such a hazard.Other than this cautionary step, I believe a biohazard container is a responsible solution to needle disposal, and I will continue to get replacements.

Does not come as advertised. It is completely blank with no biohazard stickers. Also has openings so it is not spill proof therefore not FDA approved. Anything you put here, including needles, cannot be properly disposed of with it and does not prevent blood born illnesses. Also, just a different product than advertised all together.

So i initially ordered this for tattoo needles but my mother in law needed something for her needles after checking her blood sugar and this works perfectly... if you have little kids around the house or anything where hazardous materials like needles could be accessed by someone thats not intended for it this is great. The lid is very strong and not easy to open there's two openings on top one small and round the other slightly larger and square. The other side doesn't open, and when it comes to removing the lid for dumping out the materials its almost impossible to open... it seals shut very well when you set it up so you don't have to worry about anyone gaining access to your waste unless they have time and a lot of effort.

I've purchased these before from different sellers, but these are a much better quality than the previous containers I've ordered. The plastic is thicker (and therefore more durable) on both the top and the container itself. I also like the option of a two-pack, so I can have one container for work, and one for home. The top is also removable, so you can fill a larger container (if you like) with the needles, and keep these containers for continued use. I realize that's not recommended, but it may be an appealing option for some people.

These work well for disposing my insulin needles. The state of Virginia does not require insulin patients to dispose of needs in a biohazard container, but I want to prevent anyone from getting stabbed with my used needles, so I choose to contain them very carefully. I know some people put them in empty milk jugs, but for the price, I prefer this, even though I feel guilty contributing to our landfills. If someone have a more environmentally friendly way to dispose of them, please advise.
