The Avision AD230 Document Scanner is a compact desktop scanner that can scan up to 40 pages a minute in 200dpi colour.This scanner comes with a host of features and software to help meet nearly every office's scanning functions. While also having the ability to scan to email or scan directly to a printer.I used this scanner in order to send some documents over to my work and the quality and ease of doing so was very good. The quality of the scans were very acceptable as well.Using the scanner in my small office at home was very good as it didn't seem to over heat my room, cause any additional noise when in standby or was overly loud when in use. It also folded up neatly when not in use so wasn't a burden to have on my desk.With the scanner you get some software to use, PaperPort SE14 and Avision Button Manager V2 that helped to give you the functionality described above. The software is easy to install, friendly to use without having to read a manual and does with it says on the tin.If your looking for a robust desktop scanner then this could easily do the job for you.

Excellent performance with good value for money- I am very impressed with scan speed and quality. Also, the bundled software is quite handy particular for OCR function. It was very simple to set up. ideal for a workgroup or small office. Highly recommended

Brilliant for the purpose I brought it, however may need to upgrade, will definitely use the same company who produce this product because of their service.

High quality product, perfect tor home or business use!

The delivery is as fast as within 4 working days though it is an international shipment. The package is all OK. The content is also correct. We have installed two computers in our office; one is Windows 7 and another is Mac OSX. Both can run smoothly. Its compact-design size just fits perfectly between the two PC's on my desk. The main reason of purchasing it is to scan many travel receipts from our sales department. They used to take me a lot of time to scan them in our multi-functional printer. I hope this can make my life easier.The secondary purpose is to scan the accounting document which lays in many boxes in our warehouse and office area for years. Our boss wants me to reduce the time in searching data from them and I think this product should work when it claims high speed at 40 ppm and 80-sheet ADF features.Day one test:I took out about 120 different-sized receipts that I had received in the past one week. I turn on this product and run the bundled software, Paperport. I split these receipts in two piles with roughly the same height so that each pile has about 60 pages (no time to count). The scan set at 200 dpi, grey scale. I put first pile and scan it. I timed it and found it to be really fast. The scanning job finished in about one minute and Paperport took about 5 minutes to finish processing each of them to a separate pdf file (5 minutes in total).These pdf files were named in batch with week number as the beginning, in the other words, they were and indexed and could be then easily found when needed. The second pile took about 5 minutes to finish the job, too. I checked each file and their scan results were satisfactory.In the past days with the old multi-functional laser printer, I needed to lay about 4 to 6 receipts nicely on the scan bed and then hit the scan button. Each scan job alone took about 3 minutes though I had done the same boring job hundred times. The new machine saves me at least 15 times of time compared to that from the old one. Amazing!Day two test:I asked my colleague to get one box of accounting document from our warehouse. All the document are filed per month. This box has around 700 pages in 7 folders. I took out one folder, removed all paper clips and staples, and put them all in ADF of this new machine. It took about 10 minutes time for scanning and processing into separate dpf files. I guessed the longer time was due to the page size. The old MFP could scan 20 pages per batch and the process time was about 7 minutes. Compared to the old machine, the new one saves me about 2,5 times of time. I love this, too.My colleague from the sales department came to me for scanning a pile of business card of his customers. The result was even better than my first test with the receipts. It could be the reason of smoother surface of the cards than that of of the receipts. My colleague was happy with the result and bought me with a cup of coffee with an extra nice cake with my beloved strawberry on top.I summarize the testing results as below:1. Pro's --1). Really high-speed scanning with satisfactory scan quality2). the turn-on time is much shorter than our old MFP3). the compact-design fits on most of the desktop4). smooth scanning without interruption or paper jam (our old MFP has sometimes these problem and it takes time to solve it)5). when scanning some thing like the receipts, it beats all the MFP in the market in terms of the scanning speed.6). the people form the company are quite friendly when I have questions about using this machine in Mac PC.2. Con's --1). its price is higher than MFP2). it took about two-week time to get VAT-refund process done (due to international delivery).Overall, it makes my life easier and reaches the requirement from my boss. It has really good ROI.
