Being pretty dissapointed by the Philips.co.uk customer service (or the lack of it, to be exact), I bought this generic filter as a replacement for the original FC8038/01. This is the first generic filter I ever bought, so I was a but sceptic. But all in all, it comes almost at 1/4 of the original price. And the last 'original' barely lasted 5 months until it shredded to pieces on its own (I believe it must have been a manufacturing fault). Therefore, I was willing to give it a shot. So far so good: it fits well, the suction power is amazing. Truly, I cannnot see or smell any difference. I just hope that it will do it's unseen job as well as the one you notice.
