Warriors of the World

Different, but brilliant album from the 'Kings of Metal'
Manowar is a band that has long divided opinion among metal fans. Some see them as the standard bearers for true metal. Others as a bunch of pompous buffoons and an embarrassment to the genre. However, NO-ONE can say that Joey De Maio's crew are not extremely good at what they do and this ambitious 2002 effort captures them at their most grandiose and experimental.'Warriors of the World' is NOT the full-throttle heavy metal album that many would expect. In fact, a sizeable chunk of the record sees the band exploring the more epic and operatic side of their sound, not least on 'An American Trilogy' and a surprisingly good cover of 'Nessun Dorma', with Eric Adam's voice in impressive form throughout.Fans of Manowar's singular brand of OTT, adrenaline fueled power metal need not fear, however. 'Warriors....' also contains a healthy number of old-school standards including opener 'Call to Arms', 'Hand of Doom' and the anthemic title track (easily one of the bands finest songs), with it's stomping beat, lurching riff and hugely catchy chorus. The sound quality of this remastered edition is excellent and the disc has a live version of 'House of Death' as a bonus.'Warriors of the World' is an album that may take a few spins to fully appreciate. But those who give it a fair shake will be rewarded by an excellent collection of songs that remains a worthy entry to Manowar's impressive discography. Highly recommended to more open minded fans of epic, old-school heavy metal.

mature
For me this is Manowars most mature and best album yet (by far). The mastering is way (I mean really in a BIG way) better than all their previous CD's (where the high frequencies tend to distort even on very high quality gear or Stax HPs), the album works for the first time as a whole, rounded, complete and creative work you can really listen to in one go-through. I don't get the criticism they received for this from a lot of fans. It shows they are really developing but still staying true to their very unique, one-off sound. Maybe it's because I am NO "fan"... :-/More like this please!

All Hail Manowar
Cant believe to see this brilliant album with such a bad average mark out of 5.0 so thought id better help it out!Warriors of the World is truely a Manowar masterpiece! Ok Nessun Dorma + An American trilogy may not be everybodys cup of tea but surely the rest Call To Arms, Swords In The Wind + Warriors Of The World United are some of their all time greats! Cant understand why their remastering this it sounds perfect!

MANOWAR Warriors of the World
Manowar - Warriors of the World, very beautiful album, with fine ballads and certainly a unique vocal of Eric Adams, remarkable game of musicians isn't so similar to heavy metal! Always it would be desirable to return to it and again to listen!

A reasonable heavy metal album
You can't say much about this if you already know Manowar - it's more of the same from them really. If you ARE new to Manowar, you could do worse picking up any of their other albums. Whether you're a fan or not, this CD is worth the price tag simply due to the bonus tracks, the video content, and the brilliant single Warriors Of The World United.
