We had to order a replacement cord for our Seagate external hard drive because I accidentally gave our old one away to the cable company. I was thinking it belonged to the cable box. I did some searching on Amazon and ran across this replacement cord. What first drew me to the cord was it was being sold for a reasonable price, several other places I checked wanted twice as much money. What else convinced me to purchase from them was the number of positive reviews that they had. This was important to me because there was less of a chance of the item not showing up or even worse not even working. Fast forward to the day we got the cord. It was packaged perfectly and nothing was damaged. I unwrapped the cord and immediately plugged it into my hard drive and it fit perfectly. Now the biggest test was here, I had to plug it in to see if it would actually work. I plugged it in and powered up my hard drive with no problems. I then proceeded to access the various files on my hard drive and everything was still there and worked perfectly. It has now been several months later and the power cord is still doing its job and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely order something from this company again. They even send out emails checking up on you and your purchase to ensure you are completely satisfied.

I am a person that compresses my movies onto a harddrive so i can watch them through my WD Live TV box. It has 2 USB ports so i can connect up to 10 TB (2 5TB hard drives) to it. Instead of ruining how my cables are nicely slotted through the back of my TV stand. I bough this and a package of 2 USB 3.0 plugs that work for external hard drives ( Cable Matters® 2 Pack, SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Type A to Micro-B Cable in Black 6 Feet $9 for the 2) That way i can have cables already at the computer and just take the hard drives from room to room to add more content when needed. Even though this is another product i would recommend an Anker® USB 3.0 7-Port Hub with 1 BC 1.2 Charging Port up to 5V 1.5A, 12V 3A Power Adapter Included (the 7 or 10 port) if you have lots of USB 3.0/2.0 devices.

I believe I bought this as a replacement that I had lost some years back. Powers my devices just fine to this date.

This is a great power supply for the specified purpose. It functions well for the price.

I needed to replace a power supply for a Seagate FreeAgent external drive. The drive's power light no longer lit up. The drive is over 4 years old and is no longer produced by Seagate. I saw a video where a person fixed two capacitors in the power supply adapter. I opened up my power supply and saw that the two capacitors were blown (tops were not flat anymore). So, I bought this adapter. Plugging it into the external drive, it started up, the power light went on, and the PC recognized the drive.

We had lost the cord to our external hard drive, so I ordered this since it had good reviews. We plugged this in to our external hard drive, hopeful of accessing our precious photographs and some much-needed documents, and things began to smoke. So now we have to figure out if the data can be recovered in some way and how much it will cost. This ended up being a very expensive piece of equipment--it cost us a lot of data, which will likely cost us a lot to retrieve.

I'd lost the power adapter for my Seagate external during a move, and the drive was basically useless without it. I couldn't find any replacements locally, but I did find this adapter online. It's worked exactly as I would expect so far; the drive powers on and functions normally. The only difference between this adapter and the one that came with the drive originally is the color, but you can see from the pictures what color this is and it wasn't a problem for me.
