Epoca Dorada Classic
This is a great classic of Mexico's Golden Age of Cinema in the 1940s by its greatest director, Emilio Fernandez. Yes, these films are a little syrupy, but so was abuelita's atole; its the Mexican way. The opening scenes with the cannon going off and the horses galloping in the Revolution are wonderful. This film stars Maria Felix, the Katherine Hepburn or Elizabeth Taylor of Mexican cinema, as well as Fernandez's regular Pedro Armendariz (see him also in the Bond classic From Russia with Love).Regarding the Cozumel Films DVD: the image is far from the Jeanne d'Arc treatment, but be happy to see this film at all. Also, there are no subtitles so its for Spanish speakers only. No extras to speak of, but we can forgive that if Cozumel films hurries along DVD releases of "La Perla", "Maria Candelaria", and most importantly, the 1949 classic "Salon Mexico".

Excellent DVD !
Excellent film from our Mexican golden age of cinema. The performance is amazing with Maria Felix and Pedro Armedariz. The story, the landscape, and the photography and the music are beautiful. Don't miss this DVD.NOTICE: A very curious fact. The las scence before the word FIN (END) is so close to that performed by Marlene Dietrich in Marrakech. A necklace broken and a woman who follows her man and left a wedding compromise...There are also an English version of ENAMORADA, nearly with the same actors except María Felix. Such version was made as a request of the main American actress but the result is not the same.

FREEZES UP
I bought this as a gift for someone. The picture quality seems good but it starts to freeze after about 18-20 minutes into the movie. Tried it on 4 players and they all did the same thing. Will be returning it. I wouldn't even give it one star except your forced to so you can complete the review. If they are willing to exchange it while they take care of all shipping charges I will update review.I am updating this as of 1-28-12. I contacted the seller and they took care of it immediately. No arguments whatsoever. They told me to pitch the defective disc and they sent out a replacement. The receiver of the gift is very pleased and so am I. Good job to the seller. Here is my update. I contacted the seller and they sent me a return as fast as they could. Told me to trash the bad disc. Bravo for taking care of the problem as well and as fast as they did. They get a excellant recomendation from me.

A MUST SEE MOVIE
THE STORY LINE WAS FILLED WITH EXCITEMENT, SUSPENSE, HUMOR, AND AUTHENTICITY DURING MEXICO' S TURMOIL OF REVOLUTION. THE FILM WAS SUPERBLY PLAYED BY 2 OF THE GREATEST ACTORS IN THE MEXICAN CINEMA, PEDRO ARMENDARIZ AND MARIA FELIX. IN THE END, THE REVOLUTION PROVIDED A BACKDROP TO THE FACT THAT LOVE CONQUERED IN THE END. KUDOS AND BRAVO TO A WONDERFUL FILM.

It is a "simple" movie. I appreciate it for the dresses that wears Mara Felix. Naturally the story is really a fiction, no way to have a bit of true, but can make dream the ones that see that movie.

My parents favourite movie
This is my parents favourite movie, and I surprised them by hunting it down. They think of this as the signature Armendariz film and my father tears up every time he watches it.
