A Love Song For Bobby Lon

I believe a true story. Enjoyed watching it.

Good film. It held my interest despite a slower pace. In fact, the pace was about the same as the languid pace you would want to use in the summer heat of New Orleans.Actually, that is one thing that did annoy me about the film. Much was made of the heat of a New Orleans summer, but not once did one see a bead of sweat on a forehead or a damp under-arm patch on a shirt. Compare that to the film "In The Heat Of The Night", which has far more atmosphere in that regard. On the other hand, I really enjoyed watching the gradual transformation of Pursey's house, I really like the style of these New Orleans houses with their front verandas where one can sit out of the sun or rain and watch the world go by.

Despite being two hours long and not a lot going on, this film is very good. Excellent acting by a good cast and the characters avoid a lot of the cliches that this could have used to make a film about a young woman inheriting the house of her estranged mother that is occupied by two alcoholic writers.Makes a good change to see character interplay instead of a script devoid of any need for acting ability that is padded with car crashes and special effects.

Woke up at 2am, couldn't sleep so watched this! John Travolta really shines in this type of role, he really is an unbelievable actor. Has that beautiful south atmosphere, set in New Orleans. A nice blend of romantic outlooks, juxtaposed with the bitter truth about life and family. A really sweet movie

I really enjoyed this movie. It was beautifully acted in a reigned in kind of way. Unexpected turns flowed from beginning to end. Great setting, great soundtrack, an atmospheric, intelligent, gentle yet compelling film. 5 stars from me.

If you are looking for action, this isn't a film for you but if you are looking for a film exploring the unusual relationship between three interesting characters unexpectedly thrown together, then you're bound to enjoy this. The characters are well drawn and the acting and soundtrack are excellent. For me, Scarlett Johannson steals the show and is perfectly cast. I liken her character to the role she played in Lost in Translation. - another superb film.I very rarely write a review, but having watched this last night, I thought I would do my bit to promote such a little known film try and help get it out there to a wider audience.You can probably tell....I really enjoyed this film!

Loved loved loved this movie. Each of the main characters had a vested interest and the story was told in the most touching, believable manner. Just beautiful.
