Handle helps a great deal as does the swivel hanger. Bought compound in a brick and it has been rather difficult to get applies evenly to the strop. An oil-based stropping compound might have been a better choice. This will eventually all be covered. Works quite well. Mind your angle though, Easy for the bend in the leather to lead you to blunt your edge.

I bought this strop primarily for decorative purposes. I have three of the straight razors from my grandfather's brief career as a barber roughly 100 years ago, so I wanted a strop as part of my display of them. This one does the trick! It is of good enough quality to actually be used and looks great hanging beside the razors, shaving mug, soap, and brush. There are more expensive and perhaps higher quality strops available, but for occasional use and great appearance this one's hard to beat.

One of the straps had a pretty bad leather defect, and the hardware and materials used are very cost reflective.

this is just the right size for my needs. no embedded grit. along with the razor i bought this is a do it yourself item. if you are a large person or use a large razor i would recommend the larger size of this brand for DIY strop. recommended for ppl who know what they are doing or want to _learn_ to do it from scratch.

It is a decent strop for the price. My strop was slightly rolled but thankfully not folded (no creases in the leather) so I did spend a little time flattening it out. It's not the smoothest leather in the world but it will get the job done.

Inexpensive, does what it says. Not quite as long as I thought it would be, but works well for what I needed it for.

I bought this just for fun to hang in my leather shop. It's a great novelty item for me. I don't intend to use this strop in my leather work. It does generate conversation

Solid strop, not the greatest out there, but excellent for the price.
