Hearth Country Firewood Moisture Meter Kit

Do not know how accurate it is as we have nothing to compare it to. We are not in the business of selling firewood so we do not have to guarantee but the reading seem to very close to numbers we are comfortable with. Just by checking a few different types of wood, some of which we are sure are very dry and some like green treated lumber are wet we feel it is close enough for us to use for our fireplace wood.

As described and very prompt

I don't have any way to verify this device's accuracy but it appears to be able to give moisture measurements for air-dried fire wood versus the kiln dried wood bricks that I use in my stove. This has four probes that need to be pressed into the wood so you need to be sure that you are using enough pressure for all of them to "seat" firmly in the wood. I'll keep using it and may update this at some later date.

Great product, easy to use. Instructions are a little confusing regarding how to use it, though. It says to poke the prongs into the wood parallel to the wood, but that would have you poking it at the cut end of the wood, but I think they mean to poke it in perpendicular along the split grain.

Ease of use! Use to ck my Dads wood for fireplace incert and my neighbors wood for his outside wood burner ! One of my best buys in awhile. Works great No more guessing is my wood ready to burn.

Product doesn’t work all of the time. Sometimes it reads correctly and other time it reads only 19.9% on all woods (even stuff that I know is really green). I usually have to take the battery out and wait a little while for it to reset and start working. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with me keeping in my garage that isn’t climate controlled or not.

Product works great for checking moisture in firewood.

Get extra batteries.. The ones included were dead.
