The Midcentury Modern Landscape

I love this book.

As a midcentury person, I have always loved midcentury architecture. I lived near an Eichler neighbor hood and would take the side streets just to see them. Living in Evanston, IL I loved driving Sheridan Road thru “the ravines” to see Ferris Beuhler style homes.I loved that the Intro pages highlighted my home town of Park a Forest, IL. In high school I never knew Ethne to have a green thumb but when she moved to England she found her calling. She has studied all styles of gardens for her books and you can tell she knows what she is showing and talking about.I am going to love reading the rest of the book. And looking at all the pictures again and again.It’s a lovely, fun,

Initially borrowed this from the library and ended up buying one. If you’re a fan of MCM landscaping and design this is a must have. Very few books available on the landscaping side of things and this one is the best.

Loved the balance of history and design in this book! Very helpful since we just purchased our first mid century modern house!!

Better titles are available

I love this book. Trying to landscape an MCM house with a large yard and needed some ideas. Just wish the climate was a bit warmer so I could use more tropical plants. Still, a good example of MCM landscapes.

My family in Oregon who just bought a mid-century home are still thanking me for this wonderfully photographed and expansively detailed book on mid-century modern homes, emphasizing their outdoor landscapes. Now I want one similar only detailing Northwest properties over the Palm Springs concentric homes featured here.

A stunning addition to my library and my Mid-Century decor. This book gave me some great ideas to do in my yard as well!
