These placemats are only fair to poor quality. PROS: they are water proof. The set I ordered has a clear plastic coating or film that prevents water from soaking through. I am pleased with the color, it looks nice on my table. CONS: the clear coating or film that was used to make them water proof, was poorly applied. It is very bubbly looking, which makes the placemats look cheap. They are very thin, so they will not act as a buffer for heat in any way. Overall, they will serve their purpose to help prevent crumbs from getting into the cracks of my table, but that's about all.

I ordered Frame Design and received Square Corner Design. In fact, the product page had a description of square corner design but was grayed out so in theory could not have ordered it even if I wanted to - which I did not. Since it's only 4 placemats, it's not worth the trouble to pack up and ship back and they are fine looking, just not what I ordered. As for the product received, the square design is thinner and shinier than expected (and I assume the design I ordered would be the same in that regard). The colors/contrast and shading look different depending on the angle of the light hitting them. They dress up the table and I will keep them while I look for their replacement. While I love the speed, I think Amazon/sellers might be sacrificing some quality for speed because in all my many many orders over the years, order inaccuracy has not happened until recently and now this is the second time within a couple months.

I love snowflakes and that is the theme of my Christmas decorating. I hosted Christmas for the first time for my family and needed to actually set the table and have it look festive. These did the trick! With some red chargers and my clear snowflake plates from Crate & Barrel these placemats did the trick. So easy to clean too.

These placemats look nice. They are very stylish. I only gave it three stars because they are not solid. I bought them for my kids so my counter wouldn't get messed up everytime they eat . However, liquid goes right through it. Also, be careful what splashes on it, tomato sauce will stain it. They are really cute so I will be keeping these and using them for the adults.

Attractive lightweight mats with tight open weave. Good for keeping scratches from the wood table, but not waterproof.
