Challenger 1 Tank (volume 2) Well Done
I had Volume 1 of this series, so I thought I'd get the second volume as well. While you can use this book as a stand alone reference for the Challenger 1 tank, about 2/3 of the book address the recovery and engineer versions. In the first third of the book, the photos of the MBT are clear, but small. Most were taken during Operation Granby, aka Gulf War (2 August 1990 – 28 February 1991). 1/35th reference drawings and color plates are also helpful to modelers as well as field photos that would help a modeler make realistic dioramas. While there are no interior photos of the Challenger 1 (see volume one for those Challenger 1: Main Battle Tank (Photosniper) ) there are interior shots of the CRARRV (ChallengeR Armored Repair and Recovery Vehicle). I did not see any duplicate photos from volume 1 to volume 2 which is nice. The

Otherwise its a good reference.
The author covers this tank well. The book has mostly color pictures of the Challenger 1 in service and several color plates as well as diagrams in 1/35 scale. The pictures are well captioned. It is printed on heavy paper and a quality publication. If you want any information on the Challenger recovery vehicle this book covers it in detail. This was the reason I gave it 4 stars the recovery vehicle was covered in more detail then the tank. I wanted those detail shots of the tank not the recovery track. Otherwise its a good reference.

Excellent book for ex military and those who have an interest in this area
I bought this for my partner who drove and commanded the challenger 1 whilst serving, as a reminiscent Christmas present. He will love it. Brilliant photos and an interesting read for anyone interested or involved in tanks and military.
