Had the Andrew Norris ice machine but broke down after 18 months. Apperantly a common fault. No after care from them.So I decided on this purchase of the 'Subcold Ice Maker' . A little larger than the old one but the build quality, looks and is less noisier than the predecessor and it's quiter!However 5 months it's still producing ice but the bottom and the side of the machine is cracking and falling apart!

Very easy to use

Well, I thought it was good until it stopped working a couple of months after we bought it. The manufacturer's website boasts a no quibble guarantee, but they haven't responded to my queries. Turned my good rating of the product into a two-thumbs-down!

Now this is an interesting device. When you add water to the line that no one can see and then turn it on you'll find some ice cubes produced fairly quickly, within 5-10 minutes, but those quickly melt back into water since the inside of the unit isn't cooled. If you leave it running it will eventually churn out enough ice cubes to mean some will stay frozen long enough to scoop them out but its not a perfect solution.

This machine has been a brilliant purchase. I often have people round, and used to have to squeeze bags of ice into an overloaded freezer, or leave them out to melt in buckets. This is quiet, compact, looks great and works like a charm. I find myself using it every day now and it’s clearly good, lasting quality. Very happy!

This ice machine is quite bulky compared to my last one. It is easy to use and clean and works well but only after you have pulled down the flap for the first lot of cubes. which for some reason it won't tip by itself into the receiving tray. Once you have done this its off and works fine. As long as you remember to do this it's not a problem.
