Buy it. Incredibly sturdy, attractive – and superior customer service
I can't say enough about the quality of these bat houses from Wisconsin Proud. The moment you take it out of the box, you can tell it will last for years (and impress the bats)! It was easy to put up and we've had lots of comments from curious visitors. No bats yet, but we'll keep it up and let them find us. I also can't say enough about the customer service of Wisconsin Proud. I messaged Matt because I hadn't seen any bats in my cedar bat house and wanted to try the pine version on a different part of our property. The cedar one is in the woods and I wanted to try a pine one near a more open space. Matt worked with me on a special order pine bat house, gave me a great deal and went way, way above and beyond to make sure I was happy. He told me not to give up on the cedar one, because bats don't travel long distances, and may not find it for some time. Some might be put off until the cedar smell fades a bit, but other bats aren't phased by the smell. I think people expect animals to be "products" and behave right away in accordance with our wishes. They don't. Because bats are endangered and may not be nearby, there's no guarantee that they'll make a home in your bat house. But of course, if you DON'T put one up, they certainly won't make a home there.

As advertised.
We bought this bat house mainly for my wife to use as a teaching aid for her 4th grade class she teaches. Although we will be hanging it when the class is done with it. It's well constructed and visually appealing. We will be staining the sections that have been left bare wood. Living in the Pacific Northwest we get a lot of rain during the winter and any exposed wood left out in the elements will absorb moisture and begin to swell. Even if semi protected by the eave of the house. Staining the landing area will also reduce reflected light keeping the house darker. Darker the better as far as bats are concerned. This bat house is definately worth the price. We're happy with it and looking forward to see if any bats will move in.

Great product
We live in Michigan and have a couple of bats around the house. So wanted to get them a house and liked this one. It is well built and bought some spray to get them into the house. Thanks to the info with the house, didn't know it could take some time for them to find the house. Bats are a endangered species and don't want to lose them. Have had them in our house when they lose their way, but getting them out is very easy if you do it right. Bats don't like the lights so turn them on in the house. Close all doors to other rooms, open either a slider door or pedestian door and watch them as they fly and they will find the air flow to the door. It takes me about a minute to get them out. I do admit I put a coat/blanket over my head just to be safe. Thanks for the nice well built bat house and would buy from them again. Thanks.

Gorgeous box
I don’t think bats have taken up residence yet, it can take a couple of years I’ve read. But I have a great south facing gable end and several nearby water sources, and I see bats at dusk. I hope they find it soon. No shortage of mosquitos in my area. The box seems to be well made, and the top hook made it much easier to install as I was 20ft off the ground on a ladder. Not a great time, but the box is great. I got the brown stain, neighbors don’t even realize it’s there. Which is good bc most ppl are not very smart about bats.

Very well built. Should last a long time. I mounted on a pole, and put some bird spikes on top.
