Does a great job

This is great for holding a whole Serrano ham.The ham is secured at two points - top with a circle topped screw bolt, and bottom where it sits on a spike.It's about 49cm x 46cm x 9.5cm cm and you can adjust the fit of the screw bolt to take into account the shape of your ham. Please see photos.The stand came in a rectangular box and required assembling; it was not immediately obvious how to put the stand together. Some instructions would have been helpful.We finally figured out that the screw end of the pointed bolt went through the hole in the black 'wing' piece and was then secured through the stand with the nut in the recess on the underside of the stand. The other parts were easy to do.The ham is held securely on the stand (see photos) and it is safer to carve from than trying to use a normal carving board. So disappointed in this item. The wood stain doesn’t match the picture at all, and the grip-tool in the top is unbelievably ugly. In the picture there is a elegant small ring, while I got this construction piece. So disappointed, super ugly and will not order from this seller again.

Zero assembly instructions or diagrams.There isn't a sharp point on which to rest the ham, so it wobbles. The screw by the trotter doesn't seem quite long enough to secure it either.

When the kit arrived it appeared to be missing some parts (and also no instructions on assembly), meaning the metal spike/screw that goes through the top of the horseshoe metal piece, and is meant to be able to be tightened into the ham to hold it in place, was hanging loose through the hole - there was nothing for it to be tightened against - meaning it was useless. We eventually managed to buy some parts from a hardware store to cobble together something that works, but I am very disappointed that the parts were missing and there were no assembly instructions. I wouldn't recommend this as a purchase.

For the price paid this is a decent stand comprising good quality wood finished with a smooth varnish which is easy to clean. The fittings are not stainless steel which would have been better but since very little metal is in contact with the edible meat it is no doubt OK. There was no assembly instructions or hygiene suggestions. Self assembly is required but it is not difficult to work out how it all goes together. Once assembled the stand works well and is stable.
