I bought this for the camera mount feature, for which it works great, but I use it far more often as a grip assist and phone stand. It’s sleek, not too bulky, and works extremely well with both magsafe and a magsafe compatible case (Otterbox commuter, for me).

I wanted something that would allow me to use my work phone as a webcam while not needing to semi-permanently attach something to either my laptop or the phone itself. This device absolutely fits the bill. HOWEVER, and this is where one star comes off the score, I use a case on my computer (MacBook Pro) and the hook doesn't leave much room for that so it's gotta be shoved down onto the lid and it's also a little insecure and I'm afraid of bumping the table or the stand and knocking my Continuity camera off during a meeting. It seems like most electronics peripheral manufacturers just assume that every device user wants to leave their device unprotected or to show off the logo. Regardless of the computer manufacturer, these things are expensive and it would be nice if the peripherals took into account cases and screen protectors on phones and laptops.

The product itself works as intended and has had no actual manufacturing flaws or quality issues so I am giving this five stars... but... I have to say that this simply did not meet my needs in the long run and I went with a laptop monitor camera mount, that uses an adhesive base plate, after a few weeks of use... but as I stated, that is not the products fault, I simply did not consider the constant taking it off and putting it back on that would take place. The only piece of advice I would offer to potential buyers is this, the item has to be removed if you intend to use other MagSafe mounting solutions. Seems obvious right? The problem I ran into is that I had purchased this for use with my work laptop and whenever I had to remove this holder, I would stuff it in my backpack, or my work desk, or I would leave it in my hotel room. Any one of various places... that would not be where i needed it to be when it came time to use it. I would take it off of my phone and set it on my desk when I was finished, and then later on I would be at a different location... where I needed this thing and I wouldn't have it because I left it behind. That has nothing to do with the product itself so I am not blaming Belkin, I am simply sharing my experience. If you are more organized than i am and have better luck at keeping track of things or keeping them in the right place for later use, this will likely not affect you in the same way. Otherwise, great product!

If you're like me and don't want to spend over $1,000 on a new MacBook, you probably notice the camera quality just isn't that great for things like FaceTime, Zoom, or Discord. Well, the good news is that you can now use your iPhone camera as an alternative for your Mac camera! Things to note: You will most likely need to use this without a MacBook case and need to make sure that you're not moving your laptop around too much or it will potentially fall off.

(Saturday May 3, 2025) Not only the MagSafe magnets is much stronger but also way much cooler. The design is awesome and doesn’t fall or doesn’t wobble my MacBook display at all. The only cons is that you can’t close your MacBook, you have to remove before closing lid on your MacBook or else you may damage the screen. Unfortunately, it is bit expensive but it is worth it because once use your iPhone as a Webcam, there is no going back to using MacBook built-in 720p trash Camera for video calls 😉 The summary? Buying from an expensive brands are much better than buying from a cheap brands due to design, built-in and easy to use! Belkin is all the way to go!!!

Initially I liked this iPhone holder when I tried it with a friend’s phone, so I went ahead to buy it. But then on a day to day basis I realized that it made the phone a bit too bulky for my pockets. Additionally, the material doesn’t slip as easily over the fabrics, so often I would pull my phone out and the holder will pop off and fall to the ground or remain in my pocket. Finally, the magnet is not as strong as some of the other cheaper options I’ve tried

Mein älteres iPhone 12 Pro hat ein viel besseres Bild als die Webcam meines neuen MacBook Pro M2. Dazu noch die Einstellungen wie "Studiolicht" und "Folgemodus" - das iPhone als Webcam ist super. Dieser Halter ist dafür genial: Das Handy hält sicher. Die magnetische Anziehung ist durch eine Handyhülle zu schwach, das sollte man wissen. Aber direkt am Handy angebracht, hält es sicher. Auch sollte der Bildschirm nicht zu waagerecht, sondern einigermaßen schräg senkrecht stehen. Das Objektiv ist ganz nah am Bildschirmrand, was das Bild natürlicher aussehen lässt, so wie die Perspektive der eingebauten Webcam. Ich habe manche Halterung probiert, und diese ist die praktischste.

Works great, very strong magnet, I love that it can be removed so easily to charge the phone inductively or to dock it into a magnetic dash mount in my car, compared to the older collapsible button unit adhered to my old phone’s case.

La calidad de este adaptador está muy por arriba de mis expectativas. La rigidez de la bisagra tipo anillo y la suavidad de la pestaña para colocarla sobre la Mac son una muy bienvenida sorpresa. La fuerza del imán es la justa, se siente seguro el iPhone y sirve hasta como fidget en caso de que te guste jugar con imanes. Espero dure, porque en realidad me gustó mucho.
