Best tape measure in the business. Pencil sharpener, white circle on the side to jot measurements down. Various models to suit your needs. Green with 1/16th markings (imperial), yellow with metric and imperial, white is a flexible tape in imperial for arches. A finger brake to stop tape retraction and damaging the end stop. Just keep care of it.

I like the imperial only scale top and bottom of rule clear and easy to read

Good for a while but then the lock mechanism started to deteriorate and not hold the tape. It finally failed totally and on inspection the lock tab is broken. Tried gluing but that doesn’t work. I doubt there is a spare parts supply and will need to replace but tbh I am not sure I want another of this make as it’s not cheap and I had to wait ages for delivery from U.S. When I look at the plethora of their types of tape measures it just baffles me why you need so many variations. I’ve emailed fast cap for their comments but won’t hold my breath. Disappointing really given the supposed quality of the manufacture. ADDENDUM: Received a reply from Fastcap and as they don’t have a spare part they are sending a replacement tape measure so I fully withdraw my negative comments. Exceptional service.

This is a nice tape measure but it was a shame about the delivery from UPS (Disgrace)

I have used these tapes for years I love them. My first couple lasted forever that I bought from Rutlands. The sharpners die after a week or two. However this tape died last week it wouldn’t retract and then ejected the whole tape from the body. I hope this is a one off and have ordered another one. They are invaluable as a set builder working off of American drawings.

This is an exceptional tape measure for the price and has become my “go-to” tape measure. The qualities that I like the most are (1) it’s size (it’s very compact) and (2) the easy to read measurements…on both sides of the tape. But the thing that sets it apart for me is the writeable “pad” on the side. Why doesn’t every tape measure have this? I especially appreciate this as I’ve gotten older and can jot down 2 or 3 measurements that I will surely forget by the time I get back to my shop or saw. The pencil sharpener is also a nice little extra. It’s also a well made product and does not feel cheap. If I walked into a big box store and saw this I would expect to pay more than the other 16’ tapes on the shelf, but it is in fact less expensive (on Amazon). No hesitancy in recommending.
