OZARK SEASON 1-4 [DVD]

Good series, a little salty on language, but what isn't these days. Anyway, good movie.

The dvd stops and skips. Just got it today and can barely watch it because it is constantly stopping or freezing Waste of money, very frustrating and disappointing

Great lots of twists and turns. Laura Linney & Jason BatemanAre wonderful as the main actors, bit the supporting cast adds a great dimention to the story. I`ve enjoyed it.

I just finished rewatching this series on the Season 1-4 box set on dvd; first off, Ozark is a fantastic series with everything I want in a great drama; the writing is razor sharp, the acting is brilliant and the cinematography and editing are integral parts of the story telling, if I was rated the show alone I'd give it 5 stars. The DVD set on the other hand doesn't do this great show justice, the best word to describe it is basic; the single case and storage system are not well designed, I've seen worse but it's difficult to use and subjects the discs to damage. The only extra of any kind is a short 5 minute interview with Jason Bateman on the last season 1 disc, in addition, the menu and on screen navigation are primitive. All the above are nuisances, but the real problem is the transfers, particularly season one; before I made any judgements on the discs I tried them on 3 different players with two different tvs, the issues are with the discs. I also noticed that of the players I tried, a top line Panasonic 4k player, a low end Sony 4k player and my PS4, the Playstation gave the best picture with these dvds, maybe because the tech is only one step removed. In any event Season One is by far the worst, perhaps it was rushed out to capitalize on Ozarks success, not only is the picture pretty bad even for dvd but it has an odd artifact at the beginning of each episode, a weird "stutter" for a better word as if the playback is at 1.5X but the sound is 1X. The stutter seems to last only a few minutes but it's on every episode of season one though not on later seasons. The other 3 seasons lack the "stutter" and have noticeably better transfers, though watching any dvd on a large screen 4k tv is going to show the limitations of the old technology, this set is noticeably worse than other dvds. I'm assuming that most people interested in a complete series box set are looking for more than a low quality transfer, an inexpensive case and zero special features; this show really does deserve a real box set treatment with new 4k transfers and special features, till then I'd recommend just streaming it.

Bad quality. Disc 1 froze on episode 4 and won’t do anything

sea sons 1 + 2+3 were unwatchable. season 4 was good. the dubbing was so bad .some parts were not even dubbed and could not be played back.

Still waiting for refund having sent the item back on the 17th of July due to really bad copy of Ozark dvd the quality was substandard and the first disc juddered at the start of playing . I won't go on with the whole saga but as I said I'm still waiting my refund. All in all I think its just a stalling game so I won't be buying from this seller again

I have heard many positive things about Ozark, hence the reason I decided to purchase this box set. When I am overseas for extended stays, I prefer having actual discs to watch rather than relying online because there are always some issues with the internet connection. Plus, the only reason I purchased the DVD box set is that I was unable to get this as a Blu-ray in the UK. The package arrived swiftly, so I was pleased. However, after that, things went rapidly downhill. When I played the first disc, the image was jittering, the sound was dropping out, and there was ghosting on the image. All this was in the first three minutes! This was a first for me, so I took out the disc from my upscaling Blu-ray player, cleaned the disc, and tried it a second time, but to no avail. It did not solve the problem. Believing it must be a problem with my player, I tried this disc in my second Blu-ray player, and if anything, it was even worse than previously. I contacted the seller, and they asked what the problem was, to which I explained clearly. They said they would replace the first disc, saying that was the only disc with the problem, and it should be with me in three days. I waited and waited, and nothing. Then, three weeks later, I contacted them again to see what the position of this replacement disc was, but the seller then said something about sorry, I forgot, but could I please explain the problem with it again? Needless to say, I have seen nothing in terms of a replacement disc. At this point, I just sent this back to the seller for a full refund because I don’t know what this seller is playing at here. I have had VHS tapes that were of much higher quality than this "supposedly" DVD disc. Until I got rid of it, I had Tess of the D’Urbervilles recorded from the television on a VHS tape that was far better quality than that, which was, at that time, the nearest in quality to a Blu-ray today. I have even seen pirated DVDs in far better quality in terms of image and sound quality. To halfway understand and follow what was going on, you would need the subtitles on just to follow this drama. To sum up my experience, I would say don’t waste your time and do not buy. This is the only way these companies will understand and up their game. This is 2024, and no way should a DVD be in far less quality than a 1990’s cassette tape recorded from the television.

This dvd quality is awful. Blurry very dark picture and just too bad to watch. I had to return it.
