Use case and setup - We bought this because I slipped when wearing socks so this has completely solved that problem and we can walk up and down with tremendous confidence that we're not going to slip anymore. - Only requires a measuring tape to center the placement, otherwise tool free. - Paired with the Stair Treads from same company 2. Build quality and design - Walking on it barefoot is comfortable. The texture is a low pile so a bit of a satisfying spring when you step on it. - The adhesive side seems good for several removals and replacements. I have not done an endurance test on it. - Product also dampens out the step noise as you climb the stairs 3. Performance vs claims - Product is what is advertised. It is easy to apply, just make sure you take good measurements so it looks centered. That said, it is forgiving if you make a mistake. It is easy to pull up and reapply with no residue. Make sure you clean the surface first. I have engineered hardwood but I see no issue with it being used with hardwood, engineered, or laminate flooring so long as it is clean. - It has been easy to keep clean so far with a weekly vacuum. It claims to be ok to wash in a washing machine... I can squint and see it, but I'm not going to test how well the adhesive side keeps up. As an engineer, i'm happy to just keep it in place without testing that out. If you expect pet accidents or food spillage I can see how this would be nice to be able to just pull up and wash in the sink with an air dry... if you do use the washer, make sure you follow the instructions. 4. Value for money - At $29.99 I feel this is a fair price for the utility it provides vs purchasing a remnant and double taping it to the floor with the risk of residual glue. Additional thoughts We wish we had purchased this product years ago!

Easy to put on and they stay! They look great and are easy to keep clean. I love them for my basement stairs, so much safer and comfortable to use barefoot.

Pros: affordable, super easy to “install”, nice material, arrived quickly, looks way better than expected Cons: none yet (will report back in durability later if they do not hold up) I bought these because my dogs were slipping down the hardwood stairs. I had done research on fancier options but I was honestly too lazy to get the measuring tape out and didn’t want to spend too much money on this. I bought these expecting it to look super cheap and horrible, but at a $40 price point I wouldn’t care (and I especially wouldn’t care if it helped my dogs walk on the stairs easier) but these actually look pretty nice! These arrived in the evening and I had it all laid on the stairs within 5-10 min. It was soooo easy. I saw some other carpet options where it is actually a sticky adhesive and you have to very carefully install them and use other tools to make sure it looks perfect but I hated the idea of all that effort. Also those made me nervous that they would say it’s “safe for hardwood/vinyl flooring” but then when you take them off you are left with residue or damage. So I was really excited about these because they are not sticky at all but somehow stay in place 100%. Because these are fresh out the box in these photos you may see a couple spots in the middle where it looks like it’s popping up, well it is but it’s because that’s where they were folded in the box upon delivery. I think that after some time being walked on it will flatten out great. I also didn’t clean the stairs before installing them. If I would have vacuumed and mopped first they might not have this issue. Anywho, even with my janky install they don’t move, and you won’t trip on them, but if you are suuuper observant and picky the middle bump may bug you. I love that you can easily lift them up and move them if you need to fix the alignment when installing. I think I read that you can even wash them?! I’m nervous to try that so I may just hand wash or spot treat them if necessary.

I live in a home that is close to 130 years old. The stairs are uncarpeted, and not in the greatest shape. Functional, but one of the stairs had a crack in the wood running almost the entire length of it. In addition to that, there were a couple nail heads that weren’t quite hammered down all the way and sticking up just enough to stub a toe on. The nail heads in question were located along the edges, unlikely to be stepped on but still an Invitation for injury. Not to mention that socks on feet running down or up bare wooden stairs could potentially cause injury as well. As a renter my options to make changes are limited. These stair treads were an excellent solution. I did not need to cut any of them down to fit, but it was nice to have that option. The adhesive backing is light but sufficient, and adheres well enough. The lightness of the adhesive is forgiving, very easy to lift the tread back up to re-position if needed. For me, that removed any pressure or stress about getting it right the first time. Having said that, the downside of a light adhesive is that the corners of them have a tendency to pop up a little bit at times. Standing on the offending corner for a minute is all that is needed. The light gray color is as described. The treads are utilitarian, so while they aren’t going to be the softest, they are soft enough on bare feet and get the job done. The built in ridges also help to remove dirt and debris. My dog had an accident on one of the treads, absolutely soaking it with urine which discolored it. After cleaning it with not even a whole lot of effort - you’d never know it ever happened. Overall, I’d recommend this set of stair treads. Good value for the money, renter friendly and not having to purchase anything separately to hold them in place is worth its weight in gold.

Great product. Easy to trim, not sticky but grips and stays in place, looks great. Installed in minutes. Easy to place and remove.

After a week of use, the safety treads are still firmly in. place, even at the edges. They do arrive folded in a box that isn't long enough, but it isn't bad. I laid them out in a flat pile with a box on top for a couple of days just to be sure. One of the 6 I used had a little hump in the middle at the former fold but it was easy to pull up and replace with more care. No problems now. I think someone complained about it being difficult to peel off the plastic that covers the adhesive. After laying down 6 of them I finally noticed that each clear backing has a tiny white tab on it and that affords a "handle" for peeling off the backing easily. Even before that, it wasn't difficult to get the backing off, but the tab is a thoughtful addition. EDIT: After 2.5 years, I am replacing these. My new dog races up and down these few steps dozens of times per day, and, added to normal wear and tear, the treads finally began to lose their adhesion. But I consider this very good quality and durability. The fabric of the tread itself was standing up well, some wear visible to the fabric but they would not have needed replacing for that reason. Also, the adhesive stuff did not leave a mark on my vinyl floor when the treads were removed, I was pleased about that. They looked fine (gray against gray vinyl) and solved a real safety problem. I had some treads left over from the original batch and am using those as replacements, they seem to stick just fine despite having sat in the garage for 2 and a half years. One of the better things I have ever bought from Amazon.

I am OBSESSED with these stair treads!!! I absolutely LOVE them! Oh my goodness, how I've gone twenty years trying not to slip and fall down my stairs is beyond me. I bought these so my large grandpups would be safe going up and down the stairs but now that they are on I realize I should have bought them a long time ago to keep me safe from going up and down the stairs. They were super easy to put on and stay put. I even noticed my cat making biscuits on them and they didn't budge. The color is amazing, the feel is perfect, and I can finally walk up and down the stairs with ease. If you have wooden stairs you need to buy these! UPDATE: My cat has discovered the stair treads! Bad news, they do fray a bit when she makes biscuits on them. Good news, they do not pull up no matter how hard she scratches on them.

We purchased these for hardwood stairs and they are fantastic. Easy to place on the steps, and they do not move. If you need to pull up and adjust, it doesn’t leave any sticky residue or ruin the hardwood. I would recommend these to everyone. Stability, nonslip, grip very well.

Good product, wood stairs feel safer. The individual pieces were easy to install by removing the film on the back and sticking them in place. I had to weight each one down to help them adhere but after 24 hours with consistent weight on each, they now seem firmly stuck in place. Item description says “washable” but to do so you need to remove them…not really the plan. I have swept them and the surface dirt removed easily, haven’t tried a vacuum yet!

I was sceptical at first as to whether these carpet strips would actually work or not. Happily, they work really well. We purchased them to help our old dog negotiate some slate stairs that have been varnished and were really slippery for her. The carpet has been down now for over a month and are in daily, constant use by the family and the old dog. They haven't moved at all and our dog doesn't hesitate to use them. They also blend in with the slate colour very nicely. They are of good quality and look like they should last quite a while. We are definitely pleased with our purchase and would recommend them.

I can't remember when I bought these, but it was many years ago (8 probably). I can't even remember if they were cheap or expensive but they are still going strong so I can recommended them. We'd replaced old carpets with timber flooring and stair treads, however our dog point blank refused to walk on the new timber stairs (no claw grip). These self-adhesive carpet treads were a game changer, doggy had no problem walking on them to get to the back door. They are easy and quick to install, look fine and make regulal stair traffic quieter.

These treads are great! They have excellent grip. They have the adhesive strip on the underside and stick extremely well. I purchased brown and they pretty much match my hardwood. I purchased so our dog would be more comfortable going up the stairs, but she has fallen before and is scared to go up them. I should have had something like this long ago.
