Omphalos

KOTEBEL was formed in Madrid (1999) by the Venezuelan pianist, keyboardist and composer Carlos Plaza.Many prog bands are categorized as "symphonic" merely because they include flute and/or cello in their song arrangements. KOTEBEL's "Omphalos", however, truly earns the distinction by delivering well conceived and composed symphonic art rock gems... Listen for influences as wide and varied as Rachmaninoff, Ravel and Tony Banks! :-)After listening to their 2006 release "Omphalos", if you can come up with a more vital prog band on the Spanish or Venezualan scene than KOTEBEL - PLEASE tell me about them! Excelente trabajo tanto en lo instrumental, como el lo vocal y los apartes líricos. Música con gran fuerza y vitalidad, muy buen trabajo en la flauta. Recomiendo este álbum a todos los amantes del rock progresivo, una obra de muy buena factura, que merece la pena estar en nuestra colección.

他のレビュアーの方が、ツボを押さえたレビューで書いておられるように楽曲は良いです。私が付け加えられるようなことはありません。しかし、このCDは仕様で大きな問題があります。それは、本来ノンストップでつながっているべき楽曲の間に、一聴してわかるギャップがあることです。あたかも配信用のmp3ファイルをそのままCDに焼いたような代物なのです。折角気持ちが盛り上がっても、このギャップで少なからず興を削がれてしまいます。非常に残念な仕様です。元々、wavとmp3を聞き分けるほど耳は良くないのですが、このギャップが嫌で未だにCDを愛用しているのに、このような商品だととてもガッカリです。ミュージシャン側がコレで満足してるのならどうこう言うべきじゃないのでしょうが、是非ともギャップのない「完全版」の発売を期待したいモノです。
