Works, but not as advertised.
This is my first experience with rechargeable "emergency" light bulbs, and I didn't do a lot of research. I looked at a few different Amazon listings, with various bulbs listed under different mostly unrecognizable brand names but appearing more or less the same. The UNILAMP bulbs shared much of the same advertisement/spec information as others, and since the wattage matched most of my regular light bulbs, they seemed to be the correct choice. In terms of basic function, this is the case, but not everything is what I expected based on the Amazon product info.First of all, there are no included instructions. If these were run-of-the-mill lightbulbs, there would be nothing to explain. However, what the product details show here vs. how they actually work doesn't quite add up.For one thing, although these bulbs are advertised as having multiple operating modes, that's not entirely accurate. I was not able to get a "finger tip" activation, even after referring to the instructions provided on competing bulbs' pages. The "wet cloth" method works in so far as that the bulbs light up when pressed against a wet cloth, but they don't stay lit, so that's completely impractical for any scenario I can foresee. Yes, you can use them as standard bulbs, but if you want to run them in a lamp during a power outage, you must either 1) do so on a closed circuit or 2) plug that lamp into one of the provided plastic "power cap" plugs, neither of which is explained on the UNILAMP listing or in the packaging . . . since no instructions are included. Functional? Yes, but I shouldn't have to go to your competitors' product specs to learn this. The button-activated hooks work as expected, but to my eyes, there are not two separate brightness modes, and after two full charging cycles followed by running the bulbs for roughly five hours, they're dead either way. (I did not monitor them for the duration to see if they dim over time.)Charging is likewise a mixed bag. Nothing indicates if the bulbs need to be turned on via standard fixture to charge vs. simply screwed in to a plugged-in but turned-off fixture. Getting them to display red/green charge status took a bit of finesse, as they generally wanted to just turn on (light up white) rather than show charge status, although I eventually could get them to work as I suppose is intended, by sheer persistence. Your mileage may vary. Getting a green (charged) status, unscrewing them from my testing lamp fixture, momentarily turning them on via the hook button, turning off and then plugging them back in immediately reverted to a red (charging) status. So, do they work? Yes, but not entirely as the Amazon page suggests, and that's all you have to go by. They can still serve the intended purpose, mostly, but based on my experience, it's sure hard to recommend them over similar products. Maybe those other bulbs end up shipping without instructions or without some of their advertised features, but I'd sooner give them a try than more UNILAMP bulbs. Ultimately, they work fine using the hook attachments or in a lamp via the plastic caps, so that gets them three stars, but a fourth star could have been achieved with ANY sort of thorough explanation of features and functions. Five stars? Only if everything worked as advertised/explained. A person might think that whoever generated the product listing didn't actually know anything about the product.

Great emergency light bulbs, easy to use with accessories, definite must-have during power outages
These bulbs work but they do not come with written instructions. You have to go online to figure out how to use all the pieces that come in the package. But the good news is the bulbs really do work. You get two of each of the following:> Rechargeable light bulbs> White plastic receptacles with a hook that you use to hang the bulbs> Electrical "null" caps that go onto the end of a lamp's power cordThe bulb is recharged very simply by plugging it into any lamp with a standard E26 base. That's like 99% of the world's lamps, folks. The bulbs can be used in four different ways:1) If you have a power outage, unplug the lamp that has this bulb in it and put the "null" cap onto the end of the power cord. Turn on the lamp. The bulb lights up because it is powering itself via its internal battery. ** THIS IS THE BEST OPTION FOR USAGE DURING A POWER OUTAGE - IN MY OPINION. JUST GRAB AND GO WITH A NORMAL STABLE LAMP. **2) If you have an outage OR if you want take the bulb to use for a camping trip, unscrew the bulb from the lamp it's in. Then put it into the white plastic receptacle and push the black button on the end. This turns the bulb on. The hook lets you hang it anywhere OR you can string it up to the ceiling with a wire or rope.3) If you hold the base of the bulb against a very wet sponge, it will light up. You have to hold it firmly against the sponge, trying to prop it up and make it sit on the sponge won't work to close the circuit. This method of holding it all night seems impractical to me, but it does work in a pinch I suppose (like if you can't find the null plug or the hanging receptacle).4) If you want to use it as a regular old light bulb, just plug it into a lamp and keep it there. The bulb gives a nice white light (5000 kelvin daylight).I was unable to find any dimmable feature or any indicator lights for recharge status.I think these are great emergency bulbs, easy to use with the included accessories and a definite must-have during power outages that will last longer than a few hours. Flashlights are fine tools when you have a free hand to pick one up and point it at an object to illuminate it. But flashlights aren't great when you need to use your hands for other activities. Reading is an activity I will do to keep myself distracted because I can't watch TV during an outage. Personally, I don't want to hold a flashlight while reading. With these bulbs, there are lots of activities you can do while you wait for the normal power to come back on. Just make sure you keep them charged up and handy.

Quite bright, no instructions though so a lot of trial and error.
Honestly they work amazingly as lightbulbs and the hooks they come with + the light switch make them easy to turn on and off. However when it comes to the rest of the product including how to charge them, how to do anything with the other stuff that comes in the box there is no real explanation. There isn't any explanation as well on how to charge them beyond that you just plug them into an outlet to charge but after trial and error learned a bit more about them but as others have mentioned, shouldn't require going out of my way to get them to work and should have came with at least a little instruction as to what to do, rather than just trial and error and having to read elsewhere to get a ballpark idea of what to do.Basically these lightbulbs work great, function great, and definitely serve the purpose but if you're new to using them you're going to get confused REAL quick due to the lack of instruction, beyond that I love them.

They work
I like these okay but they didn't include any instructions and I had to look up the product here just to figure out how they work. They are okay and we did put them by our bed when the recent hurricane blew through, but I'm not all that impressed and don't think I would order them again.

Very bright and convenient.
The media could not be loaded. Ok, I ordered these because I wanted to have access to light in case the power went out during the Hilary storm today. They got here just in time and I like how bright and light they are. The only reason I gave it a 4 star review it’s because it doesn’t come with instructions and I was confused on how to charge them or what the parts were for. But Google was here to the rescue. Anyways, they are good to have on an emergency or they will work for camping too. Overall I’m happy with this product!
