Excellent book that covers some aspects not thorougly covered in other books but not as strong in other areas of the subject.
I am revising my previous 3-star review after consideration. My first bike was a '69 Bonneville T120 that I bought new that year and I currently ride a 2015 Triumph Rocket III Touring. I ordered this book after reading the very positive reviews but I am a slightly disappointed. It's not that it's a bad book. It's just that I have Triumph books that are just as good if not better although this book is the most up-to-date. (The most disappointing Triumph book I have bought is Triumph Motorcycles: The Art of the Motorcycle which is basically just an over-priced collection of sales brochures. I cannot recommend that book at all.)On the plus side, the way the chapters are organized in Triumph Motorcycles in America encourages me to just choose chapters randomly rather than reading it from cover to cover which I consider to be a positive. I thought a big advantage of a new Triumph book would be more up-to-date information but, surprising, there is very little of that and, in fact, some older Triumph books that I have cover much more of the modern Triumphs. I was also disappointed that the book hardly mentioned the Rocket III at all. In fact, it's only mentioned once in the text for a picture of a custom Rocket III Roadster and a minor mention of it in the general text - only a line or two. If it wasn't for that picture, someone reading the book who didn't know anything about Triumphs might never even know that the Rocket existed even though the story of it's development probably deserved a chapter of its own. After all, it's the biggest Triumph of all time with the largest production motorcycle in the world and it's a torque monster. It surely seems worthy of more than a slight mention. The reason I upgraded my review is that when I first posted it, I had skimmed over the book but completely read sections that caught my interest. Since then, I have read the entire book and I now think it deserves a higher rating although I'm not sure I would choose it over other Triumph books in my collection. It did cover the subject of it's title more thoroughly than other Trumph books, however.

Excellent Coffee Table Book, to browse, look through or read
I've been infatuated with old triumph's since ever since I had a friend who let me sit on the 1970 Triumph Trident when it was only a few years old (in the mid 1970's). I rode Japanese bikes for many years, and in recent years was able to finally get a few of the bikes I liked so much - twins and triples.I now live in the USA, and find that this book is an excellent journal for looking at perhaps the largest export market for the Triumph motorbikes. This is an excellent testimony to the Triumph range, and can be viewed as a repository of their photographic history in North America , with great explanations for each photo, and an in-depth explanation of the surrounding backstory. It covers the west and east coast importers in the USA, as well as Canada. There is a chapter about the newer Hinckley models, as well a great Index for cross reference purposes. This is truly a great read, and super addition to a library or collection of motorcycle books, as well as just something you can leave out for others to read and peruse at your coffee table (or perhaps - over a pot of tea!!).

Bought for Father's Day and was a HIT
I got this book for my dad on Father's Day and he really enjoyed the material. His Triumph-enthusiast friends had stopped by and were also entertained flipping through the pages. He mentioned that the content was very accurate and well put-together and that the pictures were his favorite aspect.

My favorite Triumph book
Like other reviewers that have read several books about the history of triumph motorcycles, this is the one that I enjoyed most. Other books may have better photography or provide more detail about the bikes themselves but this is the one that I felt actually connected me with the people, places, and time that made up the first US Triumph 'invasion'. Other books have made me lust after vintage bikes, but this one made me wish that I could have lived in a different era.

Better than expected
Pleasantly surprised-in addition to the usual description of models there are chapters on all aspects of the Triumph world and Triumph people in America. As good or better than other Triumph books, very readable.

Provides a great picture history of Triumph Motorcycles
This was a gift to someone that had just purchased their first Triumph motorcycle. They really enjoyed learning the history behind their new bike.

Detailed History
The most comprehensive history of Triumph motorcycles in North America I have ever read. Lots of good photos from the early days right through to around 2017. Recommended read for any British bike enthusiast.

A must have for Triumph enthusiasts!
I expected this to be just a revised and updated version of the authors' previous work of the same title but it was quite different, the biggest change being the lots of colour pictures instead of only black and white in the old edition. This brings the Triumph story bang up to date but I must admit the chapters covering the Hinckley bikes were not as interesting as the Meriden stuff, there just seemed to be less in the way of stories and anecdotes for the new bikes. There are a couple of typos, it has the electric start Trident T160 being announced in '72 instead of the correct '75, and having the colour picture of said bike back to front (with Triumph & Trident logos mirrored) was unforgiveable! Having said that its a must buy for anyone interested in Triumphs.
