Probably my favourite Steve Earle record
I remember when I first heard something by Steve Earle, many years ago. The song "Copperhead Road" was playing to the end-credits of the long-defunct Chart Show on C4, and I was about 13; but it stuck with me, and I bought his records, up until "I Feel Alright" in 1995 (his first "clean" album, not that I knew about his extraordinary personal life at the time). Many years later Steve Earle guested on the excellent "30 Rock", and I thought why did I stop listening to him? So I bought the exhaustive biography "Hardcore Troubadour" by Lauren St. John, and the albums I`d missed. For whatever reason, this one has appealed to me most of all and I really love it.Maybe it`s because this seems more fun - especially if you compare to "The Hard Way". It has some of the attitude of early Dylan, serious observations and cutting attacks mixed with allusions and amusing, sharply observed bon-mots. So you get the range from "Christmas in Washington" and "Taneytown", politically aware, along with the funny "You Know The Rest", almost straight-out-rock of "Here I Am" and "NYC", and the intensely personal "Fort Worth Blues" - as beautiful a song as Earle has recorded. There aren`t any "skip" songs on this record - it`s a masterpiece from one of the real masters of modern music.

El Corazon Is A Goodie
I like Steve Earle and have recently purchased some of his back catalogue, El Corazon being one of them. It's an excellent album and would recommend it to anyone who likes good music. I read the reviews before I bought it and found no negative comments about this album. If you like Steve Earle you'll like El Corazon!

texan post addiction blues
found the cover a bit much to take ealry in the morning. But there is something udnerstated in the Texas Blues that I find appealing becuase it is not pretentious
