The case broke within one day of receipt. The magnet that holds the stand door closed broke 1/4 of the way down by simply closing it, with no abuse or misuse. The stand did not close flush into the back of the case and leaves a very noticeable lip from day one. This, combined with the magnet defect, prevents this case from being used further without the stand flying out and making the device awkward to handle and more susceptible to dropping. I attempted to reach out to the company Gumdrop, and they requested pictures of the damage and have not heard back. Customer service isn't great, though I will say that aside from these issues the case is very rugged and will most certainly protect the device. Just hope you do not get a defective unit, as your experience could be similar. I will be shopping around for another case.

This is a very very good quality case, both in design, and functionality. I HIGHLY recommend it.Pros:- This case actually enhances the functionality and efficiency of using the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2.- Took only five minutes to figure out and install, including the time to remove and clean the adhesive from the included screen protector that does not work properly with the S-Pen.- Perfect case thickness and texture to enable a firm reliable grip of the tablet. The one main problem I had with tablet was getting a firm grip on it when moving about. Also, I was constantly inadvertently touching the glass buttons while manipulating the tablet. This case solves all those issues completely.- Stand is fantastic for using the tablet with SideSync, or a USB keyboard and mouse, or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The secondary position is perfect for using the tablet with the S-Pen.- The stand allows the tablet to be used while charging easily. I have used the stand many times when presenting ideas or showing the screen content to others.- Works with common screen protectors perfectly (see note), hiding their edges, also preventing them from being snagged and pulled off the tablet.- case design recesses the buttons allowing confident reliable carrying of the tablet without pushing or touching the controls. Stops the infamous "opps" when passing the tablet from one person to another and touching a bezel control.- Ports and controls are covered and enhanced for finding in low-light, or by feel alone. I was always fumbling for the power and volume controls before I had this case, now I can find them one second, no matter the orientation of the screen.- USB, and sound ports are covered and protected from dirt and dust, yet easy to find and use when needed. A must for a tablet that is used for work.CONS:- Included screen protector is terrible. Peel it out, toss it, then remove the double-sided adhesive tape. Install your own screen protector product. (*see note at bottom*)- I would like a vertical position for the stand for use with portrait mode, especially when using SideSync with the PC, or for typing documents. This tablet can be a laptop replacement, and a supported portrait mode would be an amazing addition for typing.- The "Home" button is sometimes difficult to press, requiring a firm press that is not possible without grabbing the tablet when it is on the stand. I would recommend to the manufacturer that the material over the home button be thinner or redesigned for a lighter touch, then slightly recessed. But, the plus to this is you are very unlikely to press it accidentally.Conclusion:I do not regret this purchase at all. I use my tablet constantly for email, chat and phone. This case gets many many approving looks. People often ask to see it and examine it carefully stating the case makes handling the tablet feel natural and secure. With the bare tablet, I had constant fear of dropping it; it was just too thin and slippery to handle securely. This case completely removes the problem of smudging the camera lens and accidentally touching the controls on the bezel. The case is the best case currently out for the Note 12.2. The best screen protector is the Mime all glass screen protector (US company). My main concern was that the included plastic screen protector would not be easy to remove. I was also worried about the case not fitting over the thicker glass screen protector.Fortunately the plastic cover was easily removed, but the tape holding it on took a little more effort to remove. The case fit over the Mime protector easily. It was more difficult to get the case around the S-pen, but manageable with patience. Overall, the whole process was easy and fit well.My main complaint with the case is that there is not any way to use a 30-40 degree angle for typing without changing the screens orientation. You can keep the orientation, and not fold out the smaller magnetic support flap, but I wonder how long that would work before the hinge breaks.update: The Mime screen protectors extra thickness creates a slight gap between the devices home button and the Gumdrop case button. I used one of those silly 'aluminum' button stickers to fill the gap and its not noticable, and made the home button more responsive... ymmv.

I have no complaints about this case. But I did return it to Amazon to exchange it and purchase a similar protective case made by OtterBox, but I did have to pay a lot more money for the OtterBox case, and although both cases from both manufacturers do the job well in protecting the Samsung galaxy note Pro 12.2 inch screen tablet, but the main reason for returning this gumdrop case and going with the OtterBox case instead is that this case does not have any kind of hardcover that you can attach to the front to protect the tablet screen and says that's the most sensitive and easy to damage part of the tablet and since I do a lot of traveling by flight. I wanted a case that included a hardcover to protect the screen and the openings on the gumdrop case that expose the tablet's speakers are not nearly as refined as that on the OtterBox case for they are merely slits that are cut into the rubber to expose the speakers as opposed to the OtterBox case that are very nicely molded and angled outward so that you do not lose any sound quality.

There are not too many rugged case options available for this tablet and as there were only two other reviews here before I bought, I felt like I was taking a bit of a gamble. I had never heard of Gumdrop cases before but it looked like what I needed from the photos.It adds quite a bit of weight and bulk to the tablet but that is to be expected for this sort of protection.With the case on it really makes my NotePRO 12.2 so much easier to grip and stops it from sliding around when on my lap.Someone else mentioned that it is difficult to touch the edges of the screen because of the depth of the case. This is true and most noticeable when painting with the finger but you can angle your finger a bit and can get within a mm of the edge. I've not found it to be a problem. On the NotePRO you have the stylus anyway.One related problem is you cannot access the multitasking icons by swiping in from the right as you normally do. Luckily you can get access to this same set of icons by holding on the Back capacitive button to the right of the home button.When I bought this I wasn't looking for a stand but now I have it I am glad. It's very well thought out. It flips out from the back easily by pulling it away from the retaining magnet. Once pulled out, the inner part pushes through and then you allow the second magnet to touch the first magnet and it's held very securely in place. There is no fiddling around trying to fold over some leatherette case and trying to tuck it under a flap as with many integrated stands. This stand is in and out in a second and feels very positive. You don't feel like it will suddenly collapse as I have felt many times with other cases on other tablets. It has proper hinges that will not fail after a couple of uses.The buttons are accessible through the case as you'd expect. It actually makes the power button easier to use with the case on. With the naked tablet the power button is quite flat it's not always easy to find through touch alone. With the case on there is no doubt at all where the button is.This case has turned my tablet from a "delicate piece of bone china" that I'd only use at home on a flat surface into a use anywhere tool.

Came a day later than estimated- no problem.Very robust and 'chunky' feel - screen protector is not a film but a stiff layer of polycarbonate like material that clips into the frame of the protective harder back of them case. The rubberized outer then 'clips' over this. The total effect is one of significant protection.This does come at a cost ...Most of the time the screen is just as responsive as without the case but, the depth (4-5mm) of the rubberized lip means the very edges of the screen are slightly awkward to touch from certain angles.The other issue is that the case adds quite a bit of weight to the device and obviously makes it less streamline. However this is true of most cases and covers.Confident it will do the job. Pricey but then so is your new device so probably worth it.

Good case, but boy these Sammys are heavy. I can't imagine using this tablet without it, as the risk of dropping is increased due to the size.
