When in the early part of the twentieth century Paramahansa Yogananda discovered the principles of Energization, he was probably the first to spread the practical teachings and applications in the West. The theory and the techniques are carefully and clearly explained. From personal experience I can say they work and helped me reverse a condition that was diagnosed as osteo arthritis. Instead of taking the medication prescribed, I remembered the Energization Exercises. Within the first week of practice I obtained dramatic results that have not returned after ten years.The Energization Exercises also work very well as a prelude for meditation. The science of pranayama is based on the realization of these principles and Paramahansa Yogananda's Energization Exercises facilitate the personal understanding of a simple but important fact: prana follows thought.This is an excellent exposition without equal since inception!

Simple Exercises, subtle and profound practice, Great Benefit!
This booklet outline a series of "simple" exercises. Simple in the sense there are no body-twisting, exotic postures or anything of that sort. But the practice is subtle if you carefully follow the instruction in applying your awareness. There is a great deal of depth to these simple exercises. Most of the exercise is 80% meditative, 20% physical exertion; that means you bring the mind and body together. The benefit is great. I have practiced posture yoga for several years and stopped. I noticed my energy level getting low and decided to pick up this practice instead. It has helped me regain some energy, kick the need for coffee, and improved my digestion. I am only doing half the exercises once a day but already feel the difference.

For yoga initiates
This isn't a book for everyone. It is intended for those who are serious about improving their physical, mental and spiritual bodies. For those who are already initiates to yoga, the instruction will be easy to follow. For those who have never experienced or practiced yoga, this would be too advanced to follow. It must be followed so carefully and precisely to be effective. Those who are disciplined will find amazing results if they adhere to the practice faithfully.

Another secret from the opposite side of the globe.
Have read through it twice ( short manual) and it will take some practice to master the form. That, however, goes with any routine( dance, circuit training or martial arts).

Excellent For Anyone Wanting to Learn Yogoda
This manual has been criticised for being incomplete and not reading well on a Kindle. Lesson One Part Three is included after Part Two without a Table of Contents touch marker. Nothing is missing or ill-formatted. The last diagram is better seen on the iPad or Kindle Fire. Thanks, Yogananda!

Fantastic Pamphlet
This book, really a pamphlet, is truly amazing. Yogananda reveals some awesome techniques to incorporate physical vitality to one's meditation practice. It is short, well illustrated, simply explained, and easy to put into use. I started the exercise an hour after reading the book. Highly recommended - btw, there are some typos and grammar errors, this is to be expected from a reprint of an Indian pamphlet, so don't let this bother you. Keep your eye on the goal, physical renewal.

Halfway decent book but the printing was of poor quality and slightly faded.Still not finished reading it so cannot review contents fully.However, so far so good.

Yogananda teachings are the best. I recommend this if you follow as he said you should, you will feel healthy and energized . These exercises help you to be more focused, sit in meditation longer and pain free. It also helps with proper posture by giving strength to your muscles.
