Seed Savers: Treasure by S. Smith - a real find!
I enjoyed this first book of the Seed Savers series, Treasure, about a sister and brother team, Clare and Dante, and how they discover the “underground” movement of “seed savers”. Since growing one’s own food had been outlawed, the old ways of planting and growing one’s own food went underground and had to be kept secret. This was such a fascinating theme and the story made it a real page turner for sure. – I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next in the adventures of this cast of relatable characters. So I bought the next two books in the series! Thank you Author S. Smith for this amazing contribution of truth and hope for the future.

as I’d bought it based on good reviews. Worst children’s book I’ve bought in years
This book was dreadful. Dialogue impossibly stilted. Weird religious undertones. Quit reading it to my kids after about 30 pages and I don’t recall ever having abandoned a book in 9 years of reading to them. I even went back to check the reviews to see if I could spot a lack of authenticity, as I’d bought it based on good reviews. Worst children’s book I’ve bought in years.

Great book! A believable possible future dystopia with likeable characters and no violence. If you love a great story about real (food) freedom, this is one for tweens, teens and adults.
