The Basketball Diaries [DVD] [1995]

Laugh a minute (!) doomathon with at least some redemption at the end
Entirely watchable, but grim viewing indeed. Earns its 18 certificate and then some. Oodles of the F word. Hardcore drug use and abuse. Some strong, bloody violence, too. Leo does an utterly convincing job of portraying a desperate man doing desperate things to feed his habit. Mark Wahlberg is equally excellent as his best friend / cause of all his problems. It’s definitely not an easy watch and can be extremely harrowing in places. My favourite ghostbuster appears as a possible ray of hope. The film runs for 102, or an hour and forty two, minutes. There’s zero extras. And no subtitles. If you’re looking for a cheery experience- this is not it. But Juliette Lewis is always nice to see/watch.

Rip off!
It does look better than the DVD but that's the only plus, there's absolutely no extras at all and not even any subtitles just a total cash in on a good film don't bother, whoever made this bluray should be sacked, wait till its a fiver wish I did coz its all its worth!

It's probably great - i can't recall her bitching about it
Bought this for teenage daughter when she had a "thing" for leonardo. Haven't seen it. Just literally receiving as I want it wiped from my reviews reminder page. It's probably great - i can't recall her bitching about it.

okay
Finger marks on disc , disc jumped quite a lot, not due to being marked but as if it had bee recorded elsewhere. It was okay, wasn't awful.

Enlightening.
Take a real look at drugs and where they can take you and a look into Addiction how bad it gets. True Story.

Poor
Really poor picture quality. Spelling errors on DVD cover which is poorly reproduced. Massively disappointed.
