This sensibly priced door security viewer gives a good viewing area even though my front door is three steps up from ground level. The only snag for me was having to buy a new 14mm drill bit for the job, which cost more than the viewer! The fitting was straightforward, having decided not to put it too high up - tall people can bend down more easily than short people having to go for a set of steps - I drilled a small pilot hole straight through the plastic skinned foam-filled door, and then used the 14mm drill equally from each side of the door to avoid damage to the door skin. The viewer could then be pushed through and screwed together - ideally with a 'C' spanner, but in my case a pair of long-nosed pliers. I used plumbers' PTFE tape around the front stem of the viewer to make a firm fit in the door and then I put some general purpose grease inside the lip of the viewer to prevent water ingress. The viewer does come with a rear cover - riveted to a washer which fits under the rear lens. It's a bit flimsy and a spot of oil on the rivet won't harm, but it does the job. Recommended.

Was very disappointed it isn't brass as it said it is in the description as well as the picture. Requested to return and had to pay for return postage. Definitely not worth all the hassle and feel cheated that I had to pay for returns. Massive avoid.

I really liked this and was much needed. The peephole has no glass on the end. Some of the ones I had seen in the past had glass but this wasn't an issue for us. The lens bit is nice and big so it gives a nice coverage/ view, which is very good! We also use silicon to glue it in for further security​- so that it cannot be taken out.

A door security viewer that was very easy to install and fix .It just needs a drill and can be fitted in 10 minutes. It can be improved with a cover but given the price and design it is not a major issue..

Really poor . Although it looks good and is of sturdy construction, the viewer is very scratched and gives a blurred image - you can see that there is a person on the other side of the door but wouldn't be able to recognise them. We are going to have to find a replacement.

Fits perfectly, definitely use a 15mm drill bit. It was so easy to install, took all of 5 minutes. I put some plumbing tape on each end, a little bit of grease on the lip that goes on the outside of the door just to stop any moisture. Really pleased with it.

You can see through it and everything! Seriously though, it has a nice wide viewing angle.It works.
