I first bought the fish without the green sponge part, they held up well, but used a lot of soap as it just kinda slid or rinsed easily through it. Not a bad thing as never got smelly and dries quickly. But I prefer these with the sponge part as it holds on to the soap better, and still seems to dry well. And does a better job on glasses, therefore on all the dishes and counters.

It's just a sponge. BUT - it does sponge things in a way that I strongly prefer to other sponges.1. It lathers EXTREMELY well. Put just a bit of dish soap on this thing and expect nice sudsy washing. This is the biggest flaw I run into with other sponges where it feels like the soap I use disappears into a parallel dimension.2. It resists bad smells. It can start to smell, just like any other sponge, but it takes longer to do so than others I've tried.3. This could be a con to some, but the scrubbing pad on the back isn't too abrasive. Some sponges have what is basically a scouring pad on the back that can be damaging to nonstick cookware or more fragile dishes. This can also do that if you scrub hard, but it has been perfectly safe when washing with it lightly. Sometimes you just need a tiny bit more oomph on a sponge to get out something stubborn and this works well for that.All in all, this is my favorite kitchen sponge and worth the extra cost to me!

My grocery store Harris Teeter stopped selling these so I have to order on line now. They dont have the bacteria or smell like regular sponges and last a long time.

Works great cleaning dishes

This sponge lasts at least 3-4 times longer than regular sponges. It holds soap much longer, dries out quickly, does not have a musty smell, and the scrubbing side cleans tough spots well. My only minor complaint is that when the scrubbing side gets gunked up (like with scrambled eggs stuck to the pan), it can be difficult to get it off, requiring you to bend the sponge and rub the scrubbing side against itself.

This one does fit in my hand nicely. It has the scrubbing pad that's useful on tough stains on pots and pans without scratching them. However, like any sponge, it does get (to use the layman's term) "yucky," and in this case some of the residue gets stuck amongst the scrubbing surface as opposed to just a relatively smooth sponge, such as its other side. This translates into getting tossed sooner than it may be otherwise, although perhaps it could handle the top tray of a dishwasher. It works better than a regular sponge, but there are probably other candidates of this type of product that may be more cost-efficient and may last longer. My suggestion is to give it a try, just don't buy in bulk until you determine whether it will work for your needs.

I really like this sponge because it doesn’t develop an odor. It is very durable and lasts a long time. You really feel like you can rinse it out.
