when I first got it I give it a full charge when I plug my mother's disabled scooter into it and left it overnight the reason for doing the is light enough to carry with a disabled scooter does not carry a lot of weight so if we're out shopping I can plug it in for an hour at a time disabled scooter charger as well by having a charger means you can go further the field

I have been using the Solarpod for over 3 years and can confirm that it's reliable and does exactly what it's supposed to. The unit is primarily used by us for camping, powering a small Waeco/Dometic Coolfreeze fridge and charging various electronic devices. We usually camp in central or southern Europe for around 3 weeks and keep the Solarpod charged either through the 12v car charger when we're travelling or 2x30W solar panels when we're camping. The fridge is kept at 5°C from leaving to returning home and we've never run out of power - even though there has sometimes been plenty of cloud (particularly last year). Having proper refrigeration has made a big difference to our camping trips and the Solarpod has made it possible. It's well built (all metal construction) but compact and lightweight. I genuinely can't fault it or suggest how it could be significantly improved, and I can't think of many devices that I can say that about. Thanks Sunbird Solar - excellent work!

Yessiree..took away on a 5 week offgrid camping trip......charged my power tool batteries, torches, iPad, phones....really, really recommend.

We very much wanted a plug a play power solution for camping off grid, where we didn’t have to worry about carrying lots of different bits of kit like charge/regulator controllers, inverters and heavy, sealed lead acid, leisure batteries.I am pleased to say that the Solarpod 240 fits all of our requirements whereby all of the above is in one unit. I have been thoroughly testing the Solarpod for just over a week now, at home, to get a feel of its capabilities. At the time of writing it is February and way too cold to go camping and test the unit in the field.It has 2 USB ports which we used to charge phones and tablets. It also has a 12V cigarette lighter socket which I used to boil water using a low wattage element. I also used this socket to inflate, with an air pump, a double height double air bed without any problems.Using the 240Volt socket I ran a portable Hi fi system and from fully charged I ran a 240Volt 48W 15” TV for just over 7 hours. I then successfully recharged the unit in 5 hours using Solapod ‘s 60W foldable panel in February! It was a sunny day though.From fully charged, I’ve run the equivalent of 100 watt lighting for over 14 hours using 2 low watt energy bulbs. I’ve also managed to successfully recharge a sealed lead acid battery for a water pump internal to a gas hot water heater that I use when I go camping.In summary because the unit uses lithium iron phosphate battery technology it is very portable due to its light weight and is also reasonably compact. Included in the package is a padded bag with room inside to carry the chargers. It is a very well made, good looking bit of kit and I’m very impressed with it. 5 stars, thank you Sunbird.
