I think pretty flimsy. Go with a different seat.

Q: What is the purpose of the upper clips on the backrest?

There are two sets of clips. One set clips forward of the seat and one set clips behind the seat.

Q: Does it have a strap in the back to keep it from sliding forward?

Yes. There are 4 straps, 2 for front, 2 for back. The straps combined with your body weight stabilize the seat.

Q: Does the seat come with the SUP mounts?

No. It only comes with the seat and the seat bag. The mounts are not included
