It fits and works. An Osprey spare is pricey. It’s hard to know if it is more durable than a third party manufactured replacement. Similarly, the Osprey hydraulics tube is vey costly for what it is. Osprey backpacks are good - but the “accessory” spares feel overpriced.

This is a nice upgrade on the original bite valve. Pricey but cheaper than a new bladder and keeps my kit up to date. Much easier to open and close than the original.

Upgrade for the old valve on my 1.5l bladder as this one has an on off switch which the old one lacked. Place the old end of the tube in a mug of recently boiled water and the hot tube was easy to push over the valve. Nice and tight when cooled. Only downside is that the tape makes it a bit bulkier than the previous model.

Managed to lose the original valve that came with the pack, good it's available as $pare part!

As much as I like the Osprey products, this has led me to utter frustration! And hence the review! I purchased an Osprey Hydraulics Reservoirs 2L 3 years ago and have worked superbly, easy to clean and do exactly what I need. The Osprey Siskin 12 Mens Multi-Sport Backpack Black O/S is to keep doing what it needs to and has lasted without any issues I now need to replace the Hydraulics valve for the 5th time; the 1st time a visiting dog chewed the valve, no blame to the company! 10 months later, the replacement valve handle to open the valve snapped off. It was winter and we all know plastics get brittle... so just scrubbed the instance to bad luck. 1 and a half years later, the 2nd replacment failed yet again. The little valve handle snapped put it down to age and brittle plastic again. 6 months later, at the end of winter, the next replacment failed yet again! Same issue valve handle snapped again. 4 months later passed the the bladder to an 8-year-old with the replacement valve in it and she snapped it, cutting her finger open. As its summer their no way the plastic has gone brittle due to cold or age its just a piss poor design, a hollow U shape of plastic that bends over the side of the valve to allow you to open and close it on the move, how ever its blatantly a weak point and likly to snap if pressure is applied and any away that's not quite right even. And the way the valves are designed would suggest its to be opened by a tumb whilst on the move. what is more gailing is the item can cost from £10-£16 a time in effect to keep this bladder running over the last 3 and a half years I have spent nearly twice the amount on valves then the Bladder was... no value for money at all

Direct replacement for my Osprey bladder. Think it’s a slight upgrade as it’s slightly different, but fits perfectly and doesn’t have additional life forms like my old one had grown! I can’t comment on if this will fit a non-Osprey bladder, but I imagine it will as there will be flexibility in the tube as it’s just a push-fit.

Works ok so far

Osprey released this new style of bite valve in 2023 without any fanfare and now the old valves and replacement sheaths are not available. Fortunately, this new bite valve is superior to the old one, because you can operate the shutoff one-handed. I've heard that the valve lever can break off, and it looks like the small protrusion could get snagged. Maybe, but it's still better, and cheap and easy to replace, so I bought 3 of these valves and replaced all my old ones. A worthwhile upgrade.
