SABRENT USB 3.0 Sharing Switch for Multiple Computers and Peripherals

This is perfect! It connected a desktop and a laptop to one large monitor so that we can use both. It is good quality, functional, and has sufficient length to connect. The one-button switch works perfectly and seamlessly. I think it was a good investment that will last for a long time.

The SABRENT 2 Input 1 Output HDMI Switch is an excellent product that has made it easy for me to switch between multiple devices connected to my Gaming monitor. The switch is compact, easy to use, and delivers excellent performance, with no loss of picture quality, I am still able to game on my laptop and Xbox at 120hz 1080p (my monitor is only 1080p but I am sure at 1440p you would still be able to get 120hz at a minimum if you have a gaming setup). One of the best things about this HDMI switch is how easy it is to set up. I simply connected my Laptop and Xbox to the switch, plugged the switch into my monitor, and was up and running in minutes. Overall, I would highly recommend the SABRENT 2 Input 1 Output HDMI Switch to anyone who is looking for a reliable, affordable solution for connecting multiple devices to their TV or Monitor whether they are 4k, 1080p and 120/144hz.

Have been using this for a couple years now, and other than an occasionally having a connection issues, its worked just fine. I don't switch it often, so I can't attest to durability under more frequent usage, but I have just two gripes about it. 1. The LED is not bright enough for me to just glance at it and see which port its outputting to. Also the light points up, not out the front, making it harder to see. Someone else complained the light was too bright, but I can barely see mine unless I'm directly above it. 2. The box is smooth plastic, with curved sides four some pointless aesthetics, but it didn't come with rubber feet so if you have it on hard surface, which most desks are, it can end up sliding around. Some cheap rubber bumpers from the hardware store solved that, but seems like this would be something it should come with.

I used this to go between 2 separate computers. The HDMI cables are 6' to 8' in length. The computers are very close together. Works perfectly. I use a flat screen 1080p tv for viewing. I didn't notice a difference in picture quality. Couldn't speak to 4k or OLED TV.

Does what it's supposed to do and was very simple to connect. I use this splitter in my bedroom and I sure wish that the led was not so bright. In a dark room, it's very annoying.

Works well. If you want to use it as a shutoff switch you can. It will always start up on input 1. So just plug a single device into input 2, and nothing in input 1, and when you power up no signal will pass through ... until you press the button to select input 1, making the connection. I have this on a desktop Mac Studio M4, which has the output jack for HDMI but it fires up the display plugged into that jack every time I start my computer. It is not my primary display and I don't want it fired up. This allows me to stop that from happening. It only connects when I switch the device to input 2; it always defaults to input 1 on starting up. And I don't have to reach behind my computer to plug in the HDMI when I want my secondary display to come on. Hope this helps! Have fun!

Read all the way though if you are thinking of buying this device and care that your computers continue working! My first impression of this product was very good. It is built very well, and the included cables are excellent. My input line is connecting to a 4-way USB hub made by the same company (connected to mouse, keyboard, webcam), and my two outputs are a Surface book 2 and a self-built PC with hardware about 2-3 years old. The hub works OK with my Surface Book. The usb devices connect easily and quickly. If left on for a while, my keyboard will occasionally disconnect, but otherwise things were ok. 3.5 stars on this front. Where things got bad was with the connection to my PC. Especially around startup, some or none of my devices would consistently connect. I am an experienced PC builder, so I tried to investigate the issue. It seems that this device has a severe issue that interferes with the PC's BIOS, which messes up driver connection with the USB devices, and even hinders startup. That's right, this USB devices sometimes hinders my PC from startup and one time even fooled my BIOS into changing my boot order. Often I will power the pc on, and the fans will run only for a second, then shut off. Then, if I disconnect this device, the pc turns on and runs perfectly. Or, at other times, with the device connected the computer will power up fine, but then I will get a "fatal OS error". On top of that, even at the times where the pc boots fine, windows consistently gives me errors of "Your USB device is not working properly", and the lights on my keyboard and mouse often flicker as the devices try and fail to connect. I have never had this issue on any other usb device with this PC. Looking at the comments from the USB 2.0 version of this device, some people are reporting that the device pushes a back voltage to computers, which violates the USB specification and is very dangerous to computers. This would be a truly unacceptable error, as it could easily be the cause of my troubles, and could certainly destroy a computer. Overall, I have come to have no trust in this device, even as an experienced engineer and PC builder. BEWARE and do not buy. I will be returning my device and asking for a refund.

It's intuitive to hook up and use, and it works for switching a USB hub with a connected mouse, keyboard, and Yubikey. I haven't tested the USB throughput, so I can't speak to that. Only downside is that the LED indicators are a little dim and hard to see in a brightly lit room unless you know what you are looking for. This could be a good thing if you are using it in a darker room (e.g., watching a movie). It's not a big deal and you'll quickly get used to it. I'm happy with my purchase.
