Interesting gadget but lacking in functionality and mis-reports key data
VerdictA nice to have gadget to monitor the health of the car but let down by missing functionality and inaccurate reporting. Why?Doesn’t display core car data egOdometerTripFuel remainingCumulative fuel consumptionService detailsDoesn’t take data from car, relies on selecting next service and entering a date rather than using miles / days to service from the carTripDoesn’t record mpg trip details correctly.Car records in imperial mpg, from a refuel and reset and doing 225 miles over the course of a day the car reported an average mpg of 50.1, Engie reported it as 24.1. As a result my day cost £48.66 according to Engie, the reality, having used less than a quarter of a tank, cost around £23-£24.Randomly starts new trips even when engine is still running and car in motionStop / Start Tech confuses the device - creating a new trip each time the engine stops despite the ignition still being ‘On’ - in fairness I’ve since discovered Start-Stop cars are ‘not supported’ in the small print. No option to export tripsFault reportingCar is fine but Engie did flag a fault with the alternator when car was cold started this morning with heated seats, heated steering wheel, rear demister and fans operating. Turned demister off and fault disappeared - will monitor over time to see if this is a genuine issue or just a reporting issue on high loadParked locationThe app doesn’t seem to be able to place the car location accurately. Sometimes this is only a few metres away, other times its several hundred metres away - along the previously driven route.

Pointless buy, doesn't work as expected
Absolutely pointless.Doesn't detect or read my error codes relating to Fuel pump or Turbo (got on on dash warning)Garage plugged their reader in and there were 3 codes, plugged Engie back in and it was all Green.

Limited functionality, regret purchase
Was told that the device fits and works with my car, and although it does I can’t close th compartment in front of the OBD port as the Engie device is too big.Took about 30 mins and 10 attempts to get the app to connect to the engie device. The app is rubbish - no option to export trips or see individual trip data, making any statistics about trips meaningless because it pumps journeys together.I was hoping to use this to also track mileage and journeys for work but it is not possible with Engie.Lots of glitches in the app means some services can’t be used, I’m guessing the only mechanics in the U.K. using Engie are in London so the Book a Service section is pants and pointless. Nothing has changed in the app for several months so I’m guessing it’s been forgotten about.I contacted support to return the item but I never received a response. Suppose it was only £10. It’s worth much less though. Not impressed with Engie whatsoever. UI of the app is one of the few redeeming factors. Save yourself the bother and get one from a reputable brand as Engie lacks support, functionality and is generally pants.
