iHoan CH100 Crown Moulding Hanger System

I purchased crown from a local lumber supplier that sells everything in 16' lengths, this is good for fewer joints in the crown. Creating interim scarf joints complicates the install and runs the risk of having visual issues. On the other hand 16' pieces of crown are quite unwieldy and I would put out there impossible to install by yourself. Enter crown hangers. Sure you could probably come up with a jig yourself, but these are cheap, adjustable, and the screw/nail you need to hold them up remains hidden behind the finished crown piece. Two of these was all i needed to install my crown and I highly recommend getting a set to help you out. By the way coping your joints is the way to go, especially in an older house. If you don't know what I mean go check out the fine home building website and/or by a trim book. I have also reviewed a bosch 18 Ga nailer on here and it excelled at this install task.Update 02/20/2016Still recommend these for any DIY person hanging crown themselves. I am adding photos of the product adjustment range to address a question someone has posted. I have had no durability issues with these to date.

I was able to put up all the crown by myself with this item, but it doesn't slide up or down as much as I would like since there are larger crown moldings availble than the typical size (4''-5'')that this would work well with. Be wary that it is cumbersome to use this product when you are using multi-layered crown at a section. That means that you are combining several different pieces to create your crown. Also, when you have to adjust your crown while hanging on the hangers, many many times the crown hanger would fall off the nail and that means you have to figure out how to take the crown back down and retrieve/rehang your hanger again. That was a major pain!

Purchased these about a month ago. Solid design and I like the adjustability as opposed to the other ones on Amazon which are fixed.Background: Carpenter by trade. I don't have a crew of guys its just me, so this is a life saver when hanging crown. I do suggest getting at least two to four sets, so you can set them up all around the room, so you can breeze through each room. Having only one pair, you are only good for one wall at a time, which isn't horrible but multiple sets already handing as you go would make it go twice as fast.

The crown hanger worked, but the hanger can slide off the nail it hangs on rather easily. The nut that holds the angled attachment that slides up and down is attached to a very thin piece of plastic. When I tried moving the piece of crown molding , the hanger was moved off the nail and it fell to the floor and broke the thin piece of plastic. I put a washer on the back and got through the rest of the job. It would be nice if the hanger had deeper holes so it would not fall off the nail so easily and if the nut attachment had metal molded into the back so it wouldn't break if it falls or if it is over tightened. Other wise it served its purpose. The plastic was of good quality (not the thin piece holding on nut attachment). I only used it on one job.

Works great for long length crown. Makes it easy for one person to work alone. Just do not put them too close to the ends of the crown. I used them with 5 1/4" crown. Would recommend that you order 2 pair

Very easy to use

I've put up a lot of crown molding and it usually ends up being really frustrating trying to hang it alone. These clips make it so much easier, and almost make the process easy. I was very impressed. Great purchase for saving time and frustration.

Don't waste your money on this product. The part that the hangs on the nail is made of plastic! I placed the crown moulding on the hangers, raised the hangers, and had to slightly turn the crown so the bottom of the crown was in line with the chalk line on the wall...then crack! The part of the hanger system that hangs on the nail broke!This product should be made of metal, if so I'm sure it would work great. I don't think I was too rough on the product, but geesh, for something to survive construction, making it out of plastic doesn't make much sense to me. Buyer beware!
