Excellent shocks but where's the lockout?
I got these for a really great deal at $662, about 1/3 off so snapped them up.I was disappointed to find that there's no shock damper (lockout) and these are very active shocks. That means, when you're cranking up a hill, you'll get some bobbing which will probably cost you some watts. You can find suitable ones online but they're cheap so, why not include one?At the bottom of the fork is an adjustment to control recoil but that's not enough.RockShoxs are very durable and I've had my other pair for years without issue. (Or maintenance)They ride nicely and give you excellent control of the bike and I regularly get record speeds on my favorite trails. They perform well for racing and are used by professional racers so you're getting the best (In my opinion) forks available. (I'm sure the others are good, I've just always used RockShox.)They're very light too, 1326 grams on my gram scale, almost 200 grams lighter or about a half pound compared to my older forks. This makes a difference in trail speed.Paint is good, installation is easy, just get a steer tube cutter. It's aluminum now, they saved costs and matched the weight of Carbon Fiber and I'm ok with that. The thru-axle is nice, a Maxle. Very light and well-made.Overall, no complaints.I'm already training for the 2026 season and these forks will help me win. (I'm usually on the podium)
