Love love love this book!
My 2 year old daughter absolutely loves this book. We enjoy reading it as a family and she often says 'That's me, Mummy and Daddy!'. It is such a lovely little book with lovely colours and easy to read words which is good for children that are starting to recognise words on a page, like my daughter. I have decided to get more of these books with people of colour as I want my daughter to have a more rounded perspective of the world and different sorts of people.

At first when we received this book i read it and thought "oh well that was a waste of money". BUT then after a few reads my baby girl absolutely loves this book now. Its such a nice little song to sing.

Lovely colourful book
My 13 month old son loves turning the pages of this colourful book. The colourful illustrations seem to interest him enough to pick up this book independently & sit by himself to look through it. Very pleased!

but my daughter seems to love it!
Wasn't sure about this book as I thought it might be a bit too young for my then 18 month old, but my daughter seems to love it!

Lovely book. Nice illustrations and rhyme.
Lovely book. We did the baby dance every day until my son became too heavy for me to sweep into the air.

My toddler loves this simple book and great pictures. It is nice to see a book ...
The history of this poem is interesting...Ann Taylor was born in late 1700 and lived a very very long life for someone in that time period. She, among other things, wrote popular children's verse. This book was adapted from one of those poems. You can sing it to the tune of Rock a Bye Baby. My toddler loves this simple book and great pictures. It is nice to see a book with a father taking center stage without it being a book about fathers, too.

9 month old's favorite book
My baby was indifferent to this book until about 9 months when it became her favorite. I'm not sure if she enjoys it because it's a song (we only ever sing the words), because all the illustrations have vibrantly colored backgrounds, or because she's made the connection that the baby is "dancing" (which she loves to do). Regardless, she LOVES the book and looks at each page intently without trying to grab it and put it in her mouth--a miracle in and of itself. Sometimes she squeals with delight when we're reading it.I originally bought the book to add diversity to my daughter's collection, especially as she was born during the pandemic and has really only seen our (white) family. Besides the fact that my daughter loves it, I appreciate the subtle changes in the illustrations on each page as the baby goes from crying to delight and I love that the book features a father, which is still surprisingly uncommon in baby books. There aren't a lot of words on each page and it's a song, so you can flip the pages quickly--a big plus at my daughter's age when she has no patience for wordy books. We almost always read/sing it twice in a row.
