Fantastic!
Who knew? Before I bought these, I was a complete unknown, a nobody, just another nameless face in the crowd. Now, I'm a famous recording artist with five platinum albums. Love-crazed mobs of screaming groupies follow me everywhere, trying to rip off my clothes. The downside is, I've completely lost my personal life. I can't go shopping without crowds following me, begging for an autograph or an impromptu serenade from my famous/infamous nose whistle.Pros:Convenient size, packs in belt bagLight weightInexpensiveSeveral neat colors (I like purple!)Produce new melodies and harmonies effortlesslyMoney, fame, sex, drugs, etcCons:Some flutes don't work wellLoss of anonymityPressure to perform every dayOther "legitimate" musicians get so jealous!Would I recommend these to a friend? Hard to say. The life of a rock star can be very stressful. Plus, the quality of each flute varies quite a bit. On average I found two or three good ones in each bag of ten. The rest would barely play a scale, much less Mozart. I was lucky to find one that can do it all - rock, jazz, classical, you name it. But how long will this little plastic miracle last? Was it worth thirty bucks to launch this uncontrollable rocket of a career? Can't anybody make one of these from stainless steel?

There's nothing like the old Proboscis Piccolo.
I got my first (a tin model) over 50 years ago and had a lot of fun with it over the years. When I saw this pack, I knew I had to get some for my friend's children - after the 11-year-old demonstrated nasal proficiency on a recorder. This item allowed me to gift one not only to each of the girls, but to their cousin and neighbor as well. The kids are having a hoot. The parents are having a conniption. I have the satisfaction of helping another generation enjoy the thrill of making noise and annoying the grown-ups.Others have mentioned that these aren't the highest quality, and this is true. What do you expect for this price? Still, with a little practice you can produce a passable ditty.Hearing is believing. If you'd care to experience my virtuoso performance featuring this very instrument, go to the Tube of You and search for "La Vie en Nose" by Aboz. Note the use of the vibrato hole for the remarkable Édith Piaf tribute.

Can't go wrong with these nose flutes
You can't go wrong with these nose flutes for cheap entertainment. Just try teaching someone else to play without laughing. Try learning it yourself without laughing. Impossible, I think. At the same time ... I consider these absolutely wonderful from the perspective of being the smallest and easiest "instrument" to carry with me. You can put it in your pocket, you can put a long piece of string through the hole and hang it around your neck. It can go anywhere with you to provide unique entertainment. I love the things. I bought this large pack to give away as gifts to friends unintimidated by the dorkiness factor. (Yes, I still have seven out of my 10-pack. Two were given as gifts that I'm sure the recipients felt they could not refuse, so only one was "chosen" as a gift. Their loss, not mine, ha.)

Worth it
We got these out of sentimentality. My recently deceased aunt gave us a really fun memory with one of these. That's worth it all day. For others though, assuming your recently deceased aunt didn't try to play one of these at your wedding, you might not be quite as pleased. They're really hard to play. They came packaged in a ziplock bag. They seem cheap. They're also inexpensive and would probably make a really fun party favor. Watching someone try to play one of these makes for a really memorable laugh.

Best way to blow your nose!
I have owned at least two or three of these for the past 20 years. They are exceptionally easy to play so ocasionally I buy a 10 pack to pass out to the kids on the block. The family down the street got 4 of them from me (I included their parents) and now they play as a chorus, harmonies and all! I was a professional musician for 30 years and it feels good to spread music to people who think they have no ability at all. These are packed well and easy to play as long as your nose is not stuffed up. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to make a little music. They haven't changed in all the time I have owned one even the same company produces them or at least bought the mold. Good clean fun for any kid or adult. Highly recomended by me at least.

I keep a dozen of these available at all times.
I keep a dozen of these available at all times. Fun instrument. Easy to play. Wonderful novelty to share with visitors and family.Dishwasher safe. They are reused over and over. Been playing Nose Flute and teaching other people to play them for over 50 years. Wish I could find stainless steel "Humanatone" nose flutes like I had when I was a teenager. These plastic ones are still wonderful.

"Humanatone"
Great value, well appreciated by the nieces and nephews (with possible exception of the 15 year old - but I'll bet in secret she's fond of it). NOT popular with the Brother and sister-in-laws however. Even when played by a competent musician, the sound of the nose whistle (product says "Human-a-tone" on it) is an acquired taste. I love 'em, but they drive my wife around the bend. Well worth the $ to see who has a sense of humor, who appreciates the quirks of our existence, and who is just plain cranky ! Cheers !

What a party ice breaker
Arrived in time for a family Christmas party. No one had seen or played these before. They were are lot of fun. Out of ten flutes 4 adults learned to play in. One got a bloody nose from blowing to hard and the remainder took theres home for more practice. Should have started with the kids as they picked up the technique faster than the adults. Created lots of laughs.
