Description

This is the third remake of Kern and Hammerstein's famous musical about life on a Mississippi showboat. Magnolia Hawks' (Kathryn Grayson) marriage to gambler-turned entertainer Gaylord Ravenal (Howard Keel) is in trouble. The couple live on the show boat run by Magnolia's father, Captain Andy Hawks (Joe E. Brown). Help for Magnolia is on hand in the form of Julie LaVerne (Ava Gardner), but there is trouble in store for both of them. Toe-tappin' numbers include 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man' and 'Bill'.
