Bought this as a replacement for my old 8600k and due to the ongoing issues with intel’s ILM I ended up switching back to my 8600k. If I was to switch to LGA1700 again I’d have to buy one of the metal ILM replacements so that the processor actually stays cool. Apart from the inherent issues with Intel’s LGA1700 socket, this processor is a great deal. It performs really well and stays decently cool. If you are just gaming you really have no need for the overclockable K model as this performs nearly as well. It is lacking the extra P cores that the K model does have, and in terms of future-proofing it may be a better investment to get the K model if you can find it for a good price.
