I actually used this set for a three tired diaper cake for a baby shower. It got lots of compliments. Because it has picks to attach to the bottom of each elephant, I think it would be easy to use to decorate an actual cake.

It was really cute! Although, the baby elephants were not gray but more of a bluish color. If this matters to you might wanna double check. made it work but I was expecting and preferred the gray.
