Product Description Doff - The Great British Gardening Co. Providing 'beautiful, healthy gardens and pest free environments for everyone'. Box Contains 1 x The Product Description. Review: Safe and effective - The main reason for buying this over cheaper ones was so that our blackbirds, robins and doves would be safe.have used for 3weeks , twice on baby courgettes, tomatoes, peas, chillies, marrows and beans. There has been slight 10% damage on 3/20 plants on the cotyledon and first pair leaves, even coupled with copper wire and egg shells, but overall my plants seem healthy and safe.the pellets do seem to be eaten up, as unused ones start having a fuzz around them before decomposing, and I haven't seen many fuzzy ones in the garden, whereas ther are lots in the green house pots, except when I've put too many pellets around the base of really young plants in the garden, I.e 1 to 4 inch high plants.today I saw a dead baby slug 1 cm for the first time, haven't comecrosss dead bodies, because they are supposed to burrow in after eating.overall happy and will buy again except the price has increased by a pound and half already in this time period. I haven't harmed the birds for certain,as the mechanism of cation bypasses them and all the birds are present and accounted for. My lettuce plants in the greenhouse seem fine, except for 2/10 which now and then have a hole in one leaf, but that's fine. Will recommend. Review: Worked a treat on the slugs sneaking in overnight. Not a single solver trail left - Perfect, no silver trails appearing overnight

Useful slug killer, not perfect
These pellets are a reasonable alternative to the non-organic ones, but not a magic bullet. 1) They need to be spread more thickly than non-organic because slugs aren't attracted to them as they are to non-organic ones. So you have to put them down thickly enough to make sure that the slugs will happen across the pellets before they get to your plants. 2) It takes more than one pellet to kill some slugs. With big slugs it takes quite a few; I know - I've watched them. 3) The blurb claims that they resist breaking down in the rain - not for long in my experience. 4) If they really like your plants, some slugs will still get to them, passing lots of these pellets on the way. They do work to some extent, I have found many empty snail shells to prove it, but to use only this method you would have to be prepared to chuck a lot of these down at least once a week all through the season. I find it helps to sprinkle them close to where the slugs are hiding rather than around my plants. I will be using them again as part of my armoury, but sadly not as the total solution.

I always order large bottles as buying the smaller weight bottles uses more plastic and creates more plastic waste. I wanted ONE
I ordered a 700g bottle and got 2 x 350g bottles instead.. I always order large bottles as buying the smaller weight bottles uses more plastic and creates more plastic waste. I wanted ONE 700g bottle. The pellets themselves are fine. It was the bottles I have issue with. Also arrived soon after the order was placed.

... killer actually has worked and my hostas are looking good, no holes in the leaves
This slug killer actually has worked and my hostas are looking good, no holes in the leaves. You dont see any slugs left behind as they are supposed to eat them then go away to die. You have to replenish them every so many weeks, so i have ordered more of these previously. I would reccomend these as they are pet friendly to. Delivery was quick and well packaged.

It stops my plants being eaten
I don't know how but it seems to work. There are no nasty dead slugs about. Since using I have only lost a couple of plants half way up the stem to snails

The slug went glug.
I have used Iron Phosphate-based slug pellets for the last couple of years, with great success. They are every bit as effective as their metaldehyde-containing cousins, so I don't know why the metaldehyde ones aren't banned. They are so much riskier to domestic pets, children, and garden frogs and other predators of slugs and snails on the next level up the food chain. These are very safe indeed. This particular brand works as well as any other similar pellet, and represents good value in terms of pence per gram. Delivery to home or work is the usual Amazon bonus, saving so much time and petrol in searching for organic pellets in shops or garden centres. The proof is in the flowerbeds: my Hostas and Arum Lilies have never looked so good! Excellent product, highly recommended. Update June 2013 I'm now into my second year of using these pellets, and the plants continue to do well, and all our pets are alive and healthy! I still seem to have a good population of garden frogs too so they don't seem to be harmed, which I am pleased about. AA

It's organise but not child or pet friendly!
I bought this one hoping it will be child and pet friendly as it says on the label ORGANIC. Unfortunately, once you read the back it is not. I can't use this product so I have to give it to family members who can.
