. The butter and garlic flavor is rich and savory without being overwhelming and adds a delicious boost to simple weeknight dinners. It heats up fast in the microwave which makes it perfect when you need a side dish in minutes. It's rice. Very tasty. Ready in a minute and a half, and easily combined with a protein to create a whole meal. Just cook your protein and then 90 seconds later, dinner's ready.

Good product
Uncle Bens microwave Butter Garlic rice is good, but not the best. Some of the other flavors are better than this one. That is why I only give Butter Garlic 4 stars. My taste buds and preference chose the other flavors.

90 second wonderful rice
These rice packets take 90 seconds to cook and are wonderful. Squish the packet, put some pat of butter on top, and in a minute and a half you have delicious rice. My favorite is Basmati rice but I also like this one. The more that's in them, the less I like them.

Is convenient but tastes awful
I've tried another brand of this quick microwave and ready in 90 second rice pouches in the past with flavors like cilantro lime and Mexican street corn. They weren't great but they were convenient. I figured Ben's brand would be better. It is not. These butter garlic rice pouches have a weird and very off-putting taste that even real butter and garlic oil add-ins I've done can't cover up. The only thing that has covered it up a little is sweet chili sauce condiment I use when having the rice with potstickers. It isn't enjoyable though and for a rice lover like me to leave most of the rice in my bowl that says something. Cannot recommend. If you're on the fence I might suggest buying the plain pouches and seasoning them yourself. I haven't tried that yet but I might soon because I will never order flavored rice pouches again. None of them taste acceptable.
